Enjoying another cup of coffee while watching two of our resident Magpies and one resident Crow making quick work of the corvid food. Ran out of little takeaway sauce cups because the crows pick them up and fly off with them, so they are distrinuted all over the neighborhood. Now using the lids, and they can't pick them up without spilling all the food.

I wonder when the rest of my household will learn that part of the dreaded chore of cleaning the cat boxes is sweeping up the litter they kick about on the floor.

The bird bath etc. adjacent to out apartment entrance showed up again a few days ago. Today, after our shopping “raid”, I refilled it as the water level had gotten rather low.

My niece and nephew's 8 year old cousin and quite the character. She asks me, "Are you an adult or a kid? You look like a kid, but sound like an adult." I am a lot older than I look. I'm still carded at times even though I have been of legal age to drink for 15 years. She had the most interesting thing to say in regards to my age. It was funny.

The flora are starting to produce green, though it seems a bit hesitantly due to insufficient precipitation. The birches seem to be taking the lead among the trees.

Wish I could say the same. Everything is starting to leaf here due to an over abundance of precipitation. We've had more rain during the first two weeks of April than we usually do for the entire month.

Had a bit to do at City Hall today, and only had two people waiting in line ahead of us (you draw numbered tickets from a ticket dispenser). When we had given it a try last week, it was close to 100 people waiting!

Why must it be a nice, sunny warm day for once, and yet there's 40mph wind gusts? Long, relaxing walks aren't fun in that.

As I have one window of my “media room” tilted open, hearing the "song" of a male blackbird. (In real life, everything that songbirds are "saying" is seriously in R-rating territory of movies!)

We've got wild bunnies living in the bushy area around the old cemetery that's behind my apartment building.

The ground crews trimmed the bushes on our side of the meadow (a bit early, methinks).

The growth of the meadow has reached heights that in some areas squirrels have trouble finding the peanuts I throw down from our balcony unless I almost hit them on the nose. And never mind when two or more squirrels are around (which I do not always realize when throwing), after they have chased each other around (and who chases whom can change quickly due to their lightning-fast reflexes), only I know where I threw the peanut due to my elevated position on the balcony. One thing is for sure: the squirrels are nowhere near any starvation crises.
