We’ve had cloudless weather both day and night for some days now, leading to pretty bit swings between daily high and low temperatures, lows definitely below freezing, and highs well above 10°C (50°F).

It's a beautiful sunny day here, although there is still some ice underfoot in shady areas.

Had to trudge back to the group of four establishments that includes our hairdresser and a bakery, as I had forgotten to buy some stuff at the bakery when finished with the haircut. Problem is, the normal way home from the hairdresser is a left turn out their door, while for the bakery I'd had to have turned right. Oh well, got in a tad more walking today that way.

Went for a walk with Oscar to see the mess after the recent snow.

Refilled the two bird baths (we're having a bit of a winter drought right now, instead of getting a good amount of rain or snow).

Had my ultrasound on Saturday, and saw the Urologist today. Everything went well, except he wants to check couple things because some of my kidney function lab tests are still out of whack. I have to go for some additional lab work, and he is arranging a follow-up CT Scan to check for scarring/stricture of the left ureter, where I had a very large stone lodged.

I had to rush one of the twins into the vet yesterday because he had a blocked urethra. $635 later he's home and peeing normally.

Of course there's always humour in every situation when you have animals. The food the vet recommended was enjoyed by Seamus and Finn, but Conor covered his with a towel.

The yellow cartridge of my printer, after having been on "warning" status for a while, finally gave out today. Now all of the original cartridges have been replaced (so now Canon's actual business case is taking hold :goofy: )

Euthanised my Seamus this past Thursday. Finn has decided he's in the cat-bird seat now, and is quickly assuming Seamus' duties, much to Oscar's dismay.

Life goes on and it's as amusing as ever.

February was too warm compared to long-term averages by over 2°C, precipitation at barely one third of averages, with none after the 10th of the month to its end. At least we are getting showers, sometimes an hour or more’s worth, with (and even without) the storms.

Ordered a 2005 third edition of Tom Shippey's "The Road to Middle-earth" (1st edition 1982, 2nd - which I already own - 1992) almost three weeks ago. They had said it would take two weeks to deliver, this was one of the rare times it actually took longer than estimated for a book that I have ordered.
