Due to the current regional drought and the thus missing clouds, the rising sun is very rarely shaded, making my bedroom insufferably bright (and getting too warm too fast), waking me up far too often at insufferable pre-noon times. TV programs that interest me, meaning documentaries, tend to fall in the post-midnight slots (there is other stuff that also falls into these slots – one could say that German TV programming becomes positively manic-depressive past midnight – meh!) |

The situation I described in my above post dated 27 April has not gotten better. To be precise, because the clouds mostly seem to have “decided” to be somewhere else for the odd hour after sunrise, it has gotten worse because (surprise!) the sunrise itself has gotten earlier and earlier.

When you know something about a 'former friend' that could really ruin their life and want so much to do so, cause they deserve it for completely destroying a friendship of seven years over something so stupid cause said person is a huge idiot and I'm not someone you want to cross. |

The football World Cup is dominating German TV in ratings (as it probably is in many countries). The problem is, the other 47 channels we receive by cable are either broadcasting droning re-runs, capitulating to the uselessness of challenging football broadcasts of such supposedly overwhelming interest ratings-wise, or are practically useless no matter what the other channels provide as alternatives. |

A (somewhat) recent article in our regional newspaper stated that we have so far had the fourth year in a row with (seriously) sub-avarage precipitation. I certainly remember 2015 (which, on the other hand, had reasons not related to precipitation to remain in my memory negatively). So whenever I hear a TV meteorologist talk about "good weather" (recently one did point out more or less forcefully that we are having, for our regions, a drought), my almost knee-jerk reaction is to think, and occasionally say "do you realize that you are a thundering moron with that statement?!?" |

As per Gando, we are having serious issues with drought conditions. We did have a fair amount of rain over the winter, but it didn't have much effect on current conditions. Thank goodness for the volunteers who are risking life and limb fighting the forest fires. Otherwise, the gardens are looking amazing. I must remember to take a few photos. |

With the weather forecast for the coming week predicting it to top all previous ones for heat, the chances for my grumpiness to wane look very slim.
