Finally got my personal hearing aids in the last week of April, after a delay of over 5 weeks (the test gadgets were starting to play a “tune” to warn me that they soon would be shutting down – something that was only explained to me when I finally picked up my personal ones; no one was expecting such a delay). Should have been on 23 March (a Monday), but I got a call on 19 March (a Thursday) that the shop was shutting down due to the Corona pandemic. Mind you, I can still hear without them, but they do help a bit. My hair having not being cut since just before Christmas 2019 (I missed an opportunity just past the middle of March, after which the hairdressing establishments were closed), and thus perhaps longer than it ever has been, doesn’t help with putting them on … |

I managed to acquire a small gas lawn mower (mine is electric) and the price was right .... it was FREE! |

We name one of our local magpies 'Blaster' because it loves making the Star Wars 'blaster' sound. |

I've named one of the local squirrels “Snobsnob” as it occasionally “disdains” a peanut thrown down from our second (upper) floor balcony, “insisting” on a walnut. As long as it is the only squirrel “receiving bounty”. When the competition arrives (which can involve up to five other squirrels) that snobbishness goes out the window. It also involves a lot of those squirrels chasing each other around the meadow in confusing and apparently changing “hierarchies”, with the (nut) object of contention often staying uncollected for quite a while. Strangely human, is my impression …
