Hi everyone! I’ve been looking into getting a dog for our family, but I’m a bit lost when it comes to picking the right breed. We have two small kids (ages 5 and 7), and I want a dog that’s friendly, patient, and not overly aggressive or too energetic for the kids to handle. I’d also prefer a breed that doesn’t need excessive grooming or one that adapts well to a family lifestyle. Do you guys have any suggestions or personal experiences with breeds that are really good with children? |

A large, energetic dog may unintentionally knock over small children, while a tiny breed could be too delicate for rough play. Middle-sized breeds often offer a good balance of sturdiness and manageability. If you do choose a larger breed, ensure your kids understand how to play safely. |

Cavapoo is the best for for a family with kids. But, when you have children, especially younger ones, size matters for safety, ease of handling, and durability. So, look about info on Cavapoo sizes for you choose . For example, Young toddlers may inadvertently squeeze, drop, or step on very small dogs. In that scenario, a mini / mid Cavapoo (rather than toy) may be safer. Older children with more control may do fine with a smaller variety, provided they are taught gentle handling. In a small apartment or home, a smaller Cavapoo (toy/mini) is more manageable. If you have a yard or more space, having a slightly bigger dog can help it move and play more freely. |
