Lol I got some mocha coffee from the grocery store. (Comes already made in 16 oz cams) It had been a while since I had any and I forgot how good it was! Sure was tasty with the banana nit muffins I had for breakfast!

We are going to have to once again treat our coffee machine with an acidic (vinegar-like) solution to prevent the buildup of limescale deposits soon.

I have to buy a new coffeemaker as mine has pretty much had it. Debating whether or not to get one that's a bit bigger than the one I have now.

Yeah, I run plain water through mine every now and then thinking it will clean it a little but I really need to run some vinegar through it or something before mine clogs and is done for as well.

After we had returned here from Frankfurt (the western one, where all the banks are – and yes, they also have issues with what is more conventionally considered as crimes), my new department had a single-cup (or –mug) coffee machine using pads (soft, biodegradable, Senseo system, definitely not the plastic garbage adding to the serious pollution of the oceans). There were many variations to be had – including some which, as in many other aspects of life (ice cream comes to mind with a rage tag attached to it), make me want to scream at the companies perpetrating this garbage on us to send their utterly reality-challenged “designers” somewhere where they can no longer do damage. Anyway, I found the several variants of coffee claiming to be using the “Arabica” beans to be quite tasty. Bought three variants with three different – how to put it – kick-butt severities to get one’s barely-above-sleep level blood pressure et.al. bodily functions into office-useful mode. The middle one was what I found appropriate.

I think like %90 of what I see over here says it uses the Arabica bean. I am not sure what the difference between that and the other beans are.

'Arabica' coffee has its genetic source in Ethiopia and was first popular in the Arabic countries. I think ¾ of coffee grown now is a strain of 'Arabica' beans. The rest is primarily 'Canephora' with its genetic source in sub-Saharan Africa and is more a low acidic, more bitter coffee. Both are good!
I got a nice long black from the young blonde barista with the magic coffee hand today. Yum!

Gotcha. I knew the Canephora was lower acid content didn't know all the other.

I've been trying Murchie's Mocha Java coffee which has a more acidic flavour to their blended coffee. It's good but I prefer the blended.

I think Inwould prefer less acidic coffee but honestly don't know rhat I have ever had anything other than the arabica to compare the actual flavor.
