On the one hand, pure coffee would drive me to drinking tea. On the other hand, anything added to coffee beyond a bit of sugar and milk seems excessive to me. Ah, whatever.

I have not opened it but I ised to mix grpund cinnamon powder in coffee and really liked the flavor... just some of it would not mix up well. I saw the cinnamon coffee yesterday while shoping and had to get a small bag to try.

If you enjoy licorice, a wee dram of Sambuca will do wonders for your coffee. I guess you shouldn't really drink it for breakfast .....

I may have mentioned this earlier in this thread, but my Sambuca / coffee experience is the other way around: a shot of Sambuca with a couple of coffee beans in it. Light the Sambuca (its alcohol content is sufficient), blow out the flame ( very highly recommended if, like myself, you have a moustache!), down the shot without swallowing the coffee beans, rather chew them. Very much not recommended for breakfast!

I have never tried anything of the sort, but plausible outcomes for letting the flame extinguish by itself due to lack of remaining alcohol are 1) cracking the shot glass, 2) reducing the coffee beans to charcoal, and 3) seriously burnt lips!

For cooling off possibly burnt lips due to faulty handling of the Sambuca flambé, coffee ice cream comes to mind. As per Wikipedia, “Popular in the New England area of the US”. I vaguely remember preferring it to chocolate ice cream as third partner in the vanilla & strawberry & *something else* troika, especially if the chocolate part was too sweet. Might have fallen out of favor a bit since the tendency has been towards the sweet side for some time (I’ll check next time we eat out somewhere where ice cream is offered as a dessert).

All of that “Sambuca wisdom” that I dispensed above is decades ago. Our current coffee machine, having been descaled at apparently appropriate intervals, is providing us with a caffeine boost that is adequate.

I bought a maple flavoured coffee the other day, and I quite like it, especially after I sweeten it with some maple syrup.
