Yeah, I remember that scene. It's a bit un-Snapish though I think. I know it didn't happen in the book anyway. Hey, I had to ban myself.... I know what happens to him.... in a way.... but still, I don't know the full story so I can't got there yet. :-(

Yep, we do have a thread. I made one years ago, lol. He is a great actor. Espcially in the Patriot playine one of my favourite villains ever - Colonel Tavington.

*skips off to the Jason Isaacs thread*

*looks at thread sternly*
Why has this thread laid bare and empty for so long???

Why is that Snape scene un-Snape-ish??? They were in a real danger and Snape knew what Lupus could do as a werewolf...

(But where is the Jason Isaacs thread????)

I know. But I can't talk to myself can I? I mean, I could try. :P

Well. It just is. For a start he was either still knocked out or he was just coming round, or the danger was like all of three seconds, so there was no need for him to protect the kids. I just didn't see the point of them adding that scene really. If it was to see a slightly different side to Snape.. well they'll see that soon enough with the 7th film. Blargh.

I shalt bump is for you. :-)

Don't see why that would be a problem... talking to yourself... it's been done before... It's a lovely pastime I tell you... unless you don't agree with yourself of course.. in that case ... it can get rather annoying!! :P

I see what you're saying, but actually I think you are counter-arguing (is that a word?). You managed to convince me as to how the scene was needed. It is a movie so they had to set up the plot and draw the characters' differently from the book.
This is the first time we see a different side to Snape, both inside the Shrieking Shack where he tries to protect Harry, Ron and Hermione and then again outside from Lupus. And they needed to start showing more sides to his character because of the role he plays later on. I think it's good they start adding to it otherwise it will be completely unbelievable to the movie audience what he does later on. :-)

Ohh thanks.

Yes, very annoying when you can't agree with yourself.

Hmm.. yes, maybe I am. But at the time no-one knew what part he would play, so adding that scene made no sense. I mean, they could just have added the scenes from the later books, when they happened, and it would be the same thing, but more faithful.

I honestly don't know how they are going to film the HBP and DH. They have missed out far too much of Snape's scenes for the final revelation to make any sense. To go from someone who bashes students heads together to what we know him to be... I pity those who have not read the books.

Well, you might be right... but didn't Rowling give Rickman hints as to what happens to Snape, and didn't she do it already on the PoA movie? Not sure though, but perhaps the added the scene so they could give Sirius a little hero-time saving them all... :-) Gotta give Gary Oldman a little credit seeing as he dies so soon!!

Yeah, she did. But I guess we don't know how much. *shrugs*

I'd really like to listen to the audio books and poetry and things he has recorded. I wonder if Limewire would have any of them, or are they just for music?

Me too... you must share if you find the treasure!!!

Speaking of.. great voices... I just heard a bit of an audio book with Jeremy Irons. He read lolita but thanks to his incredibly pleasant voice I didn't pay attention at all to the violent text he read.
I'm sure it'll be the same with Alan Rickman. :-)
