I just re-watched It's All About Love.. very odd movie but starring Joaquin Phoenix, which is the reason for me posting in this thread. I liked him in that movie although, I didn't like the movie itself - or Claire Danes.. she seemed very hysterical... though it was probably the part she was playing...
Well, he did look good in that movie.. Mr. Phoenix.. I gotta admit that! :-)

@ Kit - *pat pat*

Just don't read the latest IMDB news about him.... it made me cringe to be honest. I think we may seem him back on the silver screen yet.

^^ Hey there! :bye2:

I really have got to see Walk the Line sometime. It's quite silly that I haven't done so yet. :duh: It's got everything going for it.

@ Ea - Hmm... I've never heard of that film I don't think. Glad you liked him though. :-)

Well, like I said it's a strange movie. This is what the article on Wiki says:
"It can be classified as an apocalyptic science fiction movie, but the author prefers to call it "a dream"."

Man, he is acting very strangely recently. I'm just glad Kit's not here to see me mention it.

^I agree. I tuned in to The Late Show With David Letterman a few weeks back because he was a guest, but I just couldn't sit through the whole segment, it was so painful 8/. The little bit of it I saw, he hardly said anything, and when he did, he talked really quietly and barely put an understandable sentence together :/. His new look is kind of scary, too. Being bearded and having rather long hair is one thing (case in point, Jack Davenport's look until the end of last year, which, though it took some getting used to, was very nice), but he's just taken it to extremes . The only way I can think of to explain what's going on with him is whatever demons he's trying to excise through doing music (though I think rap is a rather strange choice of genre; I was expecting something like what he did when he played Johnny Cash in Walk The Line) are very much at the forefront of his mind, hence his unusual behavior. I hope whatever's causing it will be somewhat resolved in the near future, and we'll get back the Joaquin Phoenix we first became fans of (and not necessarily by way of him returning to doing movies, either) :(.

I actually think we don't need to worry, the more I hear about it, the more I'm convinced this is all in aid of a film he is making, and his "rapper" is the character.

He got into a fight with someone at a gig of his, and the punches were not even hitting. It was just swearing and over-reacting on both parts, so I believe, like a lot of people in the industry believe, it is fake and for a film only. It all seems... to over the top to be real. ;)
