Ah, that she is.
Well she is probably best known for her role as Scarlett O' Hara in the 1939 film, Gone With the Wind. Out of the thousands of hopefuls and the long search for an actress for that part, she a British actress won it.
And then she's probably second best known for her love affair with Laurence Olivier and then her marriage to him.
The only films apart from GWTW, I have seen her in has been Waterloo Bridge with Robert Taylor and then Lady Hamilton (or That Hamilton Woman in some countries) alongside her husband Olivier.
I think she, like he did, spent most of her time on the stage, so she wasn't in as many films as some.

I love the way they make up'ed the actresses back then.. all porcelain white!!
Ohh, how cool it could be to have a signed picture by her!!
And yes Gimli, I had to watch it in one go... and in the movie theatre otherwise I'd have never watched it!!
Ohh good, considering the time and and all... they must have done it properly.. but did they get married afterwards? And did they live happily ever after?

Technicolour is teh evil!!!
Alas, the good ol' days when the world was black/white...!
The good thing about watching GWTW in the mvie theatre is that it's the big screen and you can't escape, but are forced to sit in during the entire event!
Bad thing is that it's so dark and it's so tempting to close your eyes just for a few seconds!!
Yay, for golden couples... it's just too good to be true.. and it was... apparently!!

just to expand a little on JF's answer...they got married at one minute past midnight on 31st august 1940 (the divorces from their previous spouses were finalised on the 30th august, so basically they got married as soon as it was legal). they were obviously very much in love when they married, but leigh's manic depression soon began to take its toll on the marriage - she was known to verbally and physically attack him, and he had to accompany her constantly to make sure her mood swings didn't get out of control. by the late 1940s, they were both exhausted and ill; and by the 1950s, they were both having affairs. they finally divorced in 1960.

ethelfleda... I didn't need to know that!! *sniffle*
That's sad, that's why golden couples better remain golden, they are the product of our hopes and dreams, someone to reflect ourselves in.
But thanks for sharing your knowledge on the topic nevertheless! I liked the part about them getting married as soon as they were able to.

Wow, you learn something new every day. Had no idea she was married to Laurence Olivier for a time. And I ought to know that... Gone With The Wind is one of my mom's favorites. Good film. Those of you who haven't seen it yet really should.

-THAT'S- where I've seen her from. Gone With the Wind.
Oh she was pretty good in Gone with the Wind.
And she is rather beautiful, isn't she?
