The wind gently, the leaves rustling gently in the trees. Moonlight shone pale and ominous off of the rippling waters. Breathing in deeply, Rehelan knew she would miss this land and she departed from Middle Earth unto the lands of her forebearers. She turned away, banishing those thoughts, for she had thought them many times before and she wished to spare herself the agony of bringing them up again. She turned to face her love, Frenduin. He smiled gently. "Mae govannen, beautiful one." he said softly.
She smiled. "Your words are like stars in my ears."
"But their meaning is true, cherished one." he said. "I see you ponder your fate once more. It is not in your power to control. Alas I fear if you dwell upon this matter, you will suffer. You have time yet to decide."
Rehelan bowed her head. "I know it. But change is coming, that is certain."
The two stood by each other and looked over the river. They joined hands and admired the beautiful reflections of the stars upon the water.
The next morning, Frenduin awoke to the sound of cries for help and the sounds of metal upon metal. He leapt from his bed and clad himself in his armour. He ran into Rehelan.
"No! You must return to your home! You cannot risk yourself." he said.
Reluctantly, Rehelan watched him leave. But determined to assure that no harm came to him, she disguised herself as an elven warrior and joined the other warriors that were assembling. She was shocked to see orcs swarming everywhere. Never before had an orc entered Lorien. This disturbed her and feuled her rage.
Hours later, she turned her head in time to see Frenduin fall to the ground, a gash on his neck pouring blood. Screaming, she rushed to him. HHer tears fell upon him and she held him close to herself. She decided aafter a time to return to the battle. But she never had the chance. As she stood, an orc struck her over the head, knocking her to the ground.
