READ and TELL ME what YOU THINK!

I am an Elf. I am originally from Lorien and have lived there for most of my life. I am the sister of the Galadrim Elf, Haldir. I fell in love with a Man named, Lindorie, but my Brother forbade me. After hearing this news of our unfortunate fate Lindorie left with his kin and I never saw him again. He left me with one token of his love, a ring with an emerald set in it.

I resemble the Silvan Elves from my Mother’s side. I have dark curly hair, bright green eyes, and am about 5’11” (which is a bit short for an elf). I play the harp as I sit with the Lady learning anything and everything I can. I was once called, “beautiful as an Elanor” by Glorfindel. The Elanor is the Yellow winter flower of Lorien. I have also been called many names, including Alatariel the fair, Sunrose, and Maiden of Grace.

I grew up being childhood friends with Celebrain (More affectionately known as Arwen’s mother). I was sadded greatly when the news of her death reached me, but I knew there was hope. Her 2 sons and her daughter survived her. I also accompanied Legolas, Prince of Mirkwood, to the crowning of King Elessar. Arwen made me a special accord since I knew her mother and welcomed me with flowers.

I was named after Galadriel’s original Noldorin name: Alatariel. Alatariel means Nightingale-Garland-Maiden. Galadriel also taught me a lot of Elvish lore and elven magic. I am approximately 3009 years old, but I show no sign of age. I have met the Nine Companions, including Frodo, Aragorn, Legolas and Gandalf. I helped prepare the Elven rope we sent with them as they continued on the Quest. I often go to the Shire, to a little place called Hardbottle, which is a village of upper class Hobbits. I stay there a while and visit with my Hobbits friends. In the Shire I am affectionately called Myrtle Dimple. I got very curious about the Halflings when Frodo, Samwise, Pippin and Merry took refuge in our Hidden Realm. I trade Lembas bread with them, though I don’t know how they eat so much. It is made to be eaten a small bite at a time. Four pieces would last an elf three weeks and one Hobbit can devour it in one setting. I have traveled there many times and grew to love the Hobbits. Gandalf once companioned me on one of my journeys before he went over the Sea.

After Galadriel, Cirdan, Gandalf, Frodo, and Bilbo went to the Grey Havens, I dwelt in Lorien with a few others. My Life was ended after 4015 years because I grew too powerful and had to be cut off. My dearest brother, Haldir, had to slay me with an arrow. When the Arrow hit me a flash of light flew from my body and I fell dead. Haldir buried my body in Mirkwood after Celeborn cleansed it. The arrow is laid on my grave, as is the Elanor.

I would speak in my original tongue but most Free Peoples of MiddleEarth no longer understand it. I am now in the spirit realm and am in the form a star, Ali (al-aye) some call me. I live in the sky over the Shire helping the Hobbit’s gardens and flowers go ever so tall. I share the same love of growing things as the Hobbits.
