Post subject: One Day as a Human (A Narnia story)
PostPosted: November 4th, 2006, 5:50 pm

This is a story about a Dryad, and for one day she wishes to be in Human form, to see what it is like. Now, it is when King Frank and Queen Helen are ruling at Cair Paravel. Aslan grants her to be Human for one day. So all this story happens in one Day.

Part I
It was a cool fresh night in the Narnian forest, Lantern Waste. The Lamp-post stilled shined brightly ever night, ever since the beginning of the World. But Narnia was still young. It was created by the Lion's Song almost 5 years ago, and King Frank and Queen Helen ruled at Cair Paravel. Narnia was a happy, free, country, and all the Beasts, Dryads, Naiads, Fauns and other creatures were extrememly happy. But there was just one Dryad-Woman who was not quite as happy as everyone. Her name was Kementari, and she was the Spirit of a great beech tree in Lantern Waste. She was unhappy because, for once, she wished to be in Human form. Everyone else that this thought was very silly, but one a full moon one night, Kementari got her wish.

The Wood was silent, and Kementari sat in thought. She would sigh and whisper, and sign softly with the Wind and the leaves, she could hear the distant feet of Fauns dancing at Dancing Lawn. But, quite suddenly, there was a flash of Gold, and before Kementari's tree, stood the Great Lion, the Son-of-the-Epmeror over the Sea, Aslan himself. Kementari was very frightened and made sweeping bows to the great King. The King of all High Kings breathed on her, and a rich scent seem to have come from him. He looked straight in her eyes, but Kementari couldnt keep her eyes on His, for they overpowered her's. Then he spoke.

Part II
When the Lion began speaking, Kementari felt a shiver of delight. His voice was the most wildest and deepest and happiest she had ever heard, and she never dreamt of the Great Lion ever talking to her. She thought that she was "just a Dryad" It's not as if I ws a Queen of Narnia.. Kementari thought to herself. But this is what he said,
"I Know all your thoughts and dreams, Kementari. You do not seem so happy to be a Dryad, is that true?"
Kementari was rather tounge-tied, but she only answered,
"I do not dislike being a Dryad, I just want to be a Human for one day at least.."
Aslan looked up at her, and Kementari came out of the tree she was the Spirit of. She was very tall, and her hair was willowy and very long. She too looked at the Lion, and the Lion only said,
"That wish you shall get. At the very 1st hour of this new day, you shall take the shape of a Human. But only one day will you be like that. When it is midnight, you shal; be Human, and at exactly 11:59pm of this day, you shall return into your Dryad's form."
Kementari looked at him, and tried to smile and curtsy. Quite suddenly, Aslan roared, but only Kementari could hear it in that silent wood. Kementari had fallen to the ground, and when she woke up, she was no longer a Dryad, but a beautful real, Humna woman. No single drop of Drayd's blood was in her veins. The Lion was gone, and it was still a full moon. Only 24 hours can I be this form Kementari said to herself.

Part III
The early morning was just ending. It was only about 3:00am, and Kementari was just walking around, almost too happy to speak. I wonder if the other Dryads will notice I am gone Kementari thought to herself alot. Ah, it was morning at least, she could see the crimson color of the lit sky appearing, and birds beginning to sing. She stood on top of a large hill, and just about a few miles away towards the great Eastern Sea of Narnia, she saw, shining like a star at rest, the great castle of Cair Paravel, where King Frank and Queen Helen ruled. Now, I wonder if I should go that direction... She wondered about this a good deal, but then suddenly, she heard a noise from behind her that was coming from the Wood. She stood stock still for a few moments, too afraid to turn around. But finally she sighed, closed her eyes and turned around. Nothing. Perhaps it was the only wind.. But it wasn't and she knew that it wasn't, because then the noise came again, and this time she saw what it was.

Out of the Wood, riding upon a chesnut-grey horse rode someone. She could tell at first glance that it was a man, and he looked familiar to her. He stopped his horse suddenly, and dismounted, seeing a Stranger whom he has never seen before. "Are you from Narnia? Or around here at least?" said the strange man to Kementari. "I..." she began then stopped. "You..?" the man said with a forceful smile.
"I am new to this country" she said in a low voice (she had never spoken to anyone like this before in her Human form, so she was rather tounge-tied)
"Oh you are, are you?" said the Man. "Well, I was just on my way back to Cair Paravel." he paused and added after a silence "You can come with me, if you want, since you seem sort of lost.."
"Oh..really, I can? But who are you first of all? My name is Kementari."
"Kementari" said the Man as one in a dream "that name sounds familiar...but I am Prince Sidathin of Narnia, and King Frank and Queen Helen are my royal parents who rule at Cair."
"Oh, then your someone important then, and is asking a mere average person to come to your Royal city with you?" Kementari replied.
"Of course I would" said the Prince with a cheeful smile.
