"Journeys End"

A long hard road I have traveled on,
Walking on for so very long.
Through dust and rain, and the burning sun,
A walk, a crawl, sometimes a run.

A great journey I started one day,
Long ago, and far far away.
Now so soon it has come to a close,
With the end before me excitement grows.

But now that it's over I look back,
I trace over the remaining track.
Reliving moments but just in my mind,
All these moments are now behind.

I am filled with joy from my journeys end,
And living with this heart to mend.
I look back, it all happened so fast,
A new journey to start at last.

Now I see in a different light,
Looking back with my insight.
Not an end, no that is not true,
It's just a beginning of something new!



This poem was inspired by me finishing my first book of poetry and getting it published as I posted in the "Your life" thread.

It seems now that the whole thing is over that it has come to an end, but truly it's just a new begining. So I sat down and wrote out a rough draft of my emotions. lol Hope you enjoy. :)

The poem is really pretty Jax! It makes me smile and wanna cry at the same time, because it is very recognisable and goes perfectly with my state of mind at the moment as well.

This is so good Jax!! It explains ur emotions....like wut u feel, so well! & i can realte to it too....though in a different way...(obviously i'm not talented enough to write a book! lol :-P) & ur right....it isn't the end, just a new beginning.....a new beginning to being an author!! *nudge* lol :-P So, once again, it's awesome!! Keep it up!! :)

Wow Jax! thats awsome! for some reason it sounds like something that could be out of the LotR book... like something Frodo would sing at the end of his journey. Before I really never thought of you as a poet! It's really good!

Glad you liked it as well. lol I never woudl have thought of myself as a poet not to long ago either.
