This came in a flash of inspiration, after reading 'The Two Towers' and 'Return of the King' for the umpteenth time... 8) ----------- Dawn of day, cool morning breeze Unfurls banners, snapping high; Sunlight glints off shields, no ease, Helms speak a silent war cry. Jingle of tack, stamp of hoof, Farewells are spoken, thouqh brief; Voice lifts in song, none aloof, The duty accepted in lief. A neigh, a cry, the sounding horn, And pursuit begins anew; With spear and bow, on promise sworn, In a blink, all gone from view. |

That is great! That should be the song Pippin sings to Denethor in the RotK! It so fits perfectly! Better than the one he sings in the movie! |
