Post subject: | Your poems, short stories... |
Well there seems to be a couple of My Poems topics, and I wanted to post a couple of stories, but then I thought that it was unecessary to start a new topic for only me. So here is a topic where all of you out there that write can post your things. It doesn't only have to be poems and stories, but can be songs or just qoutes that you have come up with, just as long as it's apropriate. ![]() Please, go ahead and post away! ![]() ![]() We're Home, Brother "We're home!" Alexandria whispered into the night. "We're home, we're home, we're home," She couldn't get enough of the words, finally, after what seemed ages she was back home. The starry sky looked down upon her, as if happy to see her return. The trees blew slightly and the breeze seemed to sing her name in their branches and leaves, even the grass seemed to whisper her name. "Finally boy, we're home!" She stroke Nannionath over the nose with light fingers, feeling his fine balck fur underneath her hand. He was her steed, who she had ridden to war and suffering seven years ago. It was a wonder they had made it back, together. She took a couple of insecure steps towards her village, as if not knowing, if it was time to come back just yet. She let her eyes travel up to the stars, looking at the moon, which seemed to smile down at her. She was about to continue, but changed her mind and walked off the path into the fields of grass and grain. In the distance a vast forest could be sighted, which then curved around the village and came back around, and could be seen to the south of the road as well, and then circled around, creating a sort of sea of grass, in which middle a village was located. Alexandria walked into the sea, and let her hand run across the strands of grass which reached high abover her waist. She walked until there was a small clearing of shorter grass, and a mound. "He would have been proud of me, you would have been proud." She looked down on the mound sitting herself down by its end, laying a hand on the grass as if listening to a heart beat. "I'm back now, I made it, just like you said I would. I don't know if you knew that I was coming back, or if you even believed I would. I don't know," Tears started slowly falling down her pale cheeks and her long flowing dark hair got tangled in the wind. "But I made it through, all thanks to you. I did it all for you. You taught me and you stayed by my side, not once did you leave me. You gave me hope, strength and courage to do what no one else dared. I thank you for everything. So, thank you...brother." She sobbed the last words, patted the ground and looked up to see the old oak tree who had been watching her dead brother for seven years. The tree must have been one hundred years old, at least. She touched the dagger in her belt, a single reminder of her last day of practice with her brother. But also a reminder of war. She pushed the thoughts out of her mind letting silent tears run down her face and soak the ground under her feet. Finally she pulled herself together, turned around and went back out on the trail, leading down to her village, to her house, to her family who thought her dead. She dried her tears and entered on the trail turned towards her village, and said one last time, "We're home." Then she took of running towards the lights in the village her horse trotting behind her, down the slope and out of view, with the stars, the moon, the forest, and the grass watching. |

There's a thread for similar purposes in the Your Life section... ![]() Attempt at a 50 word story when the first line was given to us. I think I actually wrote 51 words... ![]() James looked out of the window and noticed the brown dog... His stomach jolted. He swang out the window, his eyes tightly shut. He felt the dog approach and lick his hand. “I’ve missed you,†|

![]() Oh really, I didn't know that. oops. No wonder people haven't been posting in here as much as i thought they might. Well anyway. I really liked your poem SCP and it must have been hard to write a story with only 50 words. I know we had to write like an essay with 1000 words excactly or something like that. It was soo hard. I was like cutting out every other word. It must habe been one of the worst essays ever written when it was done!! lol. |

Quick! I'll make a poem up now! It won't rhyme. My fingers type at the keyboard, and I beat the beat of many drums. One drum for one key. People yelling and screaming outside, They're the vocals, soprano and bass. Dogs bark for my tuba section, and the splish splash of pools serve as the *ching * of a symbol. Cars roam across the roads, Heavy metal guitar for the highway. My sister jumpropes, the rope hitting the driveway. Click clack. The nextels beeping and cells ringing, subsistute for my flute section. I've got all the ranges. This is the Suburbean Orchestra. Wow. I have no idea where that came from...I WROTE SOMETHING UPLIFTING! :: cheer :: |

Here's one I wrote a while ago after being inspired by watching ROTK. It's more free verse than traditional poetry (no rhymes, specific meter, etc.), but I still think it's pretty good. The Destinies of The Fellowship Those who were once separated by station are now friends and equals. Those whose purpose was once hidden have now had it revealed to them. Those who were once sworn enemies are now the greatest of allies and the closest of friends. Those who were once young and foolish are now wise and courageous. He who in life was conflicted and at war within himself is now, in death, at peace. All were intertwined in their destinies by a quest to destroy a tool of ultimate, infinite evil. Let me know what you think ![]() Alexis |
