I am definitely not a poet, and the only reason I wrote this was because it was an assignment for school. I just happened to find it among some of my old school work from, gosh, about eight years ago, and it made me smile. I obviously wrote it after I read The Hobbit for the first time, my first Tolkien book I picked up.
As I walk in a daze
Down the school hallways
I find myself lost in thought
Of things that are not.
I find myself thinking of faraway places
And unfamiliar faces.
I find myself thinking of dragons
And hobbits named Baggins.
I think of a brave knight
Coming in to fight
For his lady fair
His bravery beyond compare.
Then the bell rings
And interrupts my dreams.
