I just decided to lump all my poems into one topic instead of flooding the writing section. :P

Newest ones are at the top.

______________

False Security

as midnight descends on the silent shore
the people rest in their calm, quiet homes.
the wind moans in the distance,
the trees crack and branches fall.
darkness crowds the sky above
trapping everyone below.
a storm is coming.
we cannot escape,
lost in the white cloud
a few feet from home.
we will not flee,
nor will we fight.
we simply lie
in wait like prey.
waiting and watching
and doing nothing...
safety is lost,
security false.
we can see
the coming storm
but we only see,
we do not act.
fear devours
our being,
and soon
nothing
will be
left.
all
is
lost.
unless
we decide to change
unless
we decide to fight,
despite the fear,
despite the power of the storm.
if we rise up and against the pain
the trees could fall and lightning strike
the anger of the storm aroused
the wind
it may sweep us away, lost forever,
the waves
could send our ships crashing on the rocks
never to be seen again.
or
perhaps
we could drive back the storm,
is it
even possible
that as one
we could even overcome a storm so great?
can we
arise as one,
begin a change, bring back the light,
end this overwhelming night...
or
are we
forever lost
forever blind to the world?

Escape (mostly written by one of my characters. I edited it and helped him out a bit. :P)

I've tried so hard
to find a way
to make this life
worth living.

Death, won't you come?
take me away
lead me from
this empty life.

I've tried and failed,
failed every test.
Come and find me,
let me rest.

Trapped in the dark
with my regrets,
disappointing
everyone.

My mind is my
worst enemy.
Dawn never comes
and never will.

I don't care
for anyone.
Nothing matters,
I'm dead and cold.

Death, won't you come?
Take me away
lead me from
this empty life.

I stand on the edge,
looking over
to death below,
wish it would rise,
destroy me now.
End all the pain
gone on so long.
The cage of life,
it traps me here,
here in this world
I long to escape.

Why won't you come?
Death, lead me from
this so-called life.
I can't go on,
my spirit is gone.
Life has not begun,
it's over
and done.

The Forest

I wander through the forest
In the dark and endless night.
I wonder where the moon has fled
And why the stars have died.
The only things that I can see
Are the thorns, the tangled roots,
And the darkness all around,
Destroying rays of hope.
In ages past the road has gone,
The path has disappeared,
Leaving me to wander
Lost forevermore.

Alone

He's all alone,
Tonight he cries,
Longing for love.

He wants to know
That someone cares,
That someone's there.

They say he's weak
Because he's scared
To let them go.

He's afraid they won't return,
He'll be alone yet again.

He fears the dark,
The dark inside,
Destroying him.

He doesn't know
Where to hide or
Who to turn to.

Does anyone care?
Does anyone know
He's so alone?

He's afraid they won't return,
He'll be alone yet again...

He needs a friend,
Someone to love
Who never leaves.

I'll be his friend,
I'll care for him
And I'll be there.

He'll never be alone.

Death Song of the Mafia (this is obviously about a game I don't really want people to die, jsyk. XP and it's one of my goofy poems... XD)

Oh die, die, people, die,
I will be happy when you lie
under the dirt, the end is nigh!
Why don't you just already die?

Mafia, mafia where be you?!
Kill people, kill people, you must do.
Hurry up now before the day's through,
I wanna know if my theory's true!

Doctor, doctor, where did you go?
People are dying, don't you know?
Doctor, doctor, they need you so,
Will you truly leave them alone?

"Death! Death! Death!" Is what they call,
All they want is the mafia's fall.

"You will die!" the mafia cry,
All they want is to stay alive.

Soon death will come and take its toll!
Then they'll all find their wishes null!
For they will have achieved their goal,
and of death the world shall be full!

Tears of Crimson

She cries alone
In the dark, as the snow is falling down.
Silent she walks under the fading moon
Remembering
The day that's gone.
The day the fires raged all around,
The day when the North fell to the ground,
The day he died.
She mourns for him,
Her only companion the bitter wind,
Reminding her no one is by her side.
She is alone,
Without a hope.
She looks above to the lifeless, cold trees,
Their frozen branches crack, fall to the ground.
All things meet their end,
Nothing lives for long.
She fingers a blade, should she end it all?
Onto the snow a drop of crimson falls.
The blade is pulled away,
This is not the end.
You were not alone, I was by your side.
I was with you then, the day that he died.
The day that your home fell, I was there for you.
But I could not get past your walls of ice,
You shoved me away from your grief and pain.
You said you wanted to be alone.
But I will never leave your side, I'm here,
I am here for you.
No matter what you do,
I will always love you
Until the end of days.

......

Nothing Remains of Yesterday

When you felt alone
I was there for you.
I have always tried
to help you make it through.

Through the dark and light,
in the worst of times
a friend by your side
I never abandoned you.

We were best of friends,
made it through the storms.
Your darkest secrets
never saw the light.

But you turned away,
left without a word,
left me far behind.
You were there, yet so far away.

Never truly friends,
that is what you said.
I was never there,
all those years were false.

What is it I've done
that you chose to end
the friendship we had?
Am I nothing to you?

I've forgiven you,
but you still are gone
and nothing remains
of our yesterday.

Will you never return,
and take a second chance?
Have you gone to stay away
from me 'till the end?

Midwinter

When the summer fades away
And the sunset turns to gray
We long for the days that have fled.

As the leaves fall to the ground
Icy wind blows around.
Where has the gentle breeze flown?

The cold storms in, bringing hail and rain.
Soon we no longer can feel the pain,
And green fields are a distant memory.

All we know now is the howling wind,
Nothing remains, only barren trees
And shining glass on the forest floor.

The sun is long gone, no hope remains,
All we can see is the cold and the rain,
Midwinter has come again.

Ice and harsh winds wage war on the trees,
As dead branches crack they surrender
To the one they have long fought before.

When will we see past the storms and the pain?
Will we ever find the good in the rain,
The intricate ice-crystals, streams standing still,
The falls that are frozen, the white powdered hills?

The wind may be bitter, and the ice so cold,
Why don't we remember it all fades away?
The snow turns to water, the glaciers to streams,
The long-frozen ice becomes the sweet rain,

As spring comes once again it's the hope for new life.
The trees sprout green leaves, the flowers appear,
Thriving on the once-frozen snow.
Where would we be without winter's chill?

Alone in the Darkness

Fleeing through
The forest at night,
The sun gone,
The moon gives no light.
The trees sway,
And fall to the ground
Beside me.
For death I am bound,
So it seems,
Trees crash all around.
All alone,
No one beside me.
I'm alone,
I'm finally free.
So it seems.
Is it really true?
Even if
I do make it through,
What awaits
On the other side
Of these trees?
There can I reside?
Who will then
Stand by me again?
Will they come?
Or am I alone,
Doomed to live
In darkness again?

The Flame in the Sky

Arisen at dawn, the red sun appears,
A bright flame in the sky.
Flying above the land, nothing it fears,
Shining down from the height.

Awakened at dusk, the darkness crawls out,
To make war on the light.
Walking in shadow, it cloaks all in black,
Reigning throughout the night.

As the light fades, dark seems to win the fight.
Clouds cover the night sky,
But far beyond there, stars are glowing bright.
The light will never die.

In defiance of the dark the light shines,
Piercing through the deepest,
Darkest places, giving all things new life.
Can darkness its strength best?

Never-ending is the battle they fight,
The darkness and the light.
Unrelenting, war rages on and on,
Until the end of time.

And then the light will overcome the dark,
Destroying its power.
The sun once more will arise to the sky,
Shining on forever.

So what do you think of them? Any comments or suggestions for improvement?

You are such an amazing poet. I write poetry myself but you seem better than me.

Keep on writing my lovely friend.
Keep on writing; poetry has no end.

:D Thank you! :) Ha... I doubt that! ;) After all... I'm only 16 and have only written these poems and a couple others which are much too terrible to post. :wary: :confused2:

Why thank you, my dear Telemnar.
My pen shall travel long and far,
And when at last it comes to rest,
I long to have brought out the best.

*snickers* My cheesy improv poetry "skills". XD

You are welcome. You will grow wiser and better. :) .

My fellow Tolkien friend, days shall never come to an end.
Your words shall be be bright stars, believe your crazy friend Telemnar.
Poetry heaven lays so high, write words aim to fly.
Your talent shall grow, as the winds of the days blow.
Mark my words dearest Feanor, your poems shall open greatness doors.

I suck at poetry :/ less practice makes it worst...

New one at the top. It's a really weird free verse style that I've never done before. O_o
