To Ashes

My eldest has passed.
My second has perished.
I've lost all I hold dear
And all that I cherished.

The darkness is coming.
My kingdom won't hold.
The sword is still broken
Of the tales of old.

In the halls of the kings
I shall come to sleep.
Pour the oil on me
As I stand here and weep.

I shall burn to ashes
Lying by my son.
I will come to rest.
My troubles will be done.

Thank you both. I'm actually working on one that's inspired by Lúthien. Maybe I'll finish it within the next few days. :)

Ooo, i like that!!! I had to read it again b/c i didn't realize wut it was about, but once I did, wow! it's really good. :-D post more!!! *puts FRODOFAN on "look for new poems" list.* :-D
