First of all we need to know who Elwing's brothers were. They are called Eluréd and Elurin (the youngest of the two). They were lost in the assault on Doriath by the sons of Fëanor (Maedhros, Maglor, Celegorm, Caranthir, Curufin, Amrod, Amras).
At the passing of Beren and Lúthien, the Silmaril that Lúthien had worn was brought to Dior (the father of Eluréd and Elurin) in Menegroth. He was assailed by the Sons of Fëanor, who claimed the jewel for themselves (and with that the Oath of their father came into action). This caused the ruin of Doriath, and the death of the King Dior and his wife. The two sons were taken and left in the forests to starve, but no tale tells about their faith.

The Eagles'Cleft is named Cirith Thoronath. It is a dreadful pass where Tuor and Idril were fleeing from the surprise attack on Gondolin. There they were ambused by Orcs; there was a also aBalrog ready to slay them all. Glorfindel, chief of the House of the Golden Flower of Goldolin fought with the Balrog upon a pinnacle of rock form that place. Bothe fell overboard. Well, I hope that is right. I took some of the information on page 243:).

The Dagor Bragollach was the fourth battle of the Wars of Beleriand, known as the Battle of Sudden Flame. The Battle began one night in winter, when Morgoth sent out rivers of flame from Angband that consumed the wide plains of Ard-galen, which was renamed Anfauglith. The armies of Balrogs and Orcs, led by Glaurung first of the Foalókë, overran the highlands of Dorthonion. Maglor's Gap was taken, giving Morgoth an entry into Beleriand itself.
The Pass of Aglon was also breached. Morgoth's Orcs took the mountain forsts of Mount Rerir, and defiled Lake Helevorn.
Minas Tirith in the Pass of Sirion in the West held. The mountain forts of the Ered Wethrin around Hithlum also held, although barely.

The knife of Beren was Angrist ( The "Iron-cleaver"), the other very known sword, I am going to have to do some research because I have no idea:).
