And also in the Council of Elrond it is said that Tom Bombadil alone would not have the power to defeat Sauron and that he would fall as the last person in Middle-Earth if the council gave the ring to him. Yeah, that was a point I thought of yesterday while I was grounded. Tom
can't be a Vala if he doesn't have the power to defeat Sauron. Unless he had really strange beliefs about nonviolence that wouldn't let him defend himself.
