Hmm.. hard to say. Whenever I've read them I haven't read them back-to-back nonstop. Several days could have gone by without me reading it. So a couple of weeks maybe? I honestly cannot tell.

The first time I read them (back in my early teens) it probably took me a month (maybe two) or so due to my age and troubles with the archaic language (since English isn't my native tongue).

Ah, too long. It took me months. I got caught up in school, work, life and all that other junk that I just read a little but whenever I could. But I still loved it!

12 days, when reading them in my native language :-D They were so addictive (still are though). But the first time in English took about three weeks.

First time I read it (in Dutch) 10 days. Second time 6 days xD In English it took me two weeks I think.

It was the first time I read a long book. :P

I read all three books in about one day, give or take a few hours. I read the Hobbit in about two hours. I've reread them lots of times since then, but never that fast. It took me much longer to actually decide to read them, since I didn't really like fantasy at the time.

Two weeks, the first time. Over a weekend, the second time. About a month the third time. Most of last summer, the fourth time. Planning ot read them again this summer in preperation for the Hobbit movie.

The first time I read it about two years ago, it took me about... two to three months? And that was drawing it out as much as could! I want to take a lot longer this time, really. For me the Lord of the Rings is a slow read, you're supposed to sit and enjoy it and mull over it and... marinate in it, haha. It's not fast-paced or action-packed or anything.

I read if for the first time in 6th grade... It took me like 3 or 4 days... I was an avid reader back then... ah life before college... and life before after college...

It took me about a month both times I read the series. First time in 5th grad, second time in 6th grade. Now I've decided to read them every year, along with The Silmarillion, The Hobbit, and Unfinished Tales.
