I think I would keep Frodo as the Happy character he is in the beginning of the book, instead of the sad character he becomes. He was such a fun guy at first...

I can only agree with you. I also think it is sad that Frodo has become such a melancholic character at the end of the story, but I think that this development was just logical after all he's been through and it just fits to the story the way it is I think

Thinking on what the movies may lack *cough cough* they're pretty awesome.....

ok, got some points....

♥Make Frodo more valiant and brave in like in the books. His basic routeen was Scream, Drop the Sword, Fall Down, Let whatever was after you get you. :duh:
♥Have Faramir be the regal majestic noble character he really was!!! He should some, well, i forget the word, but it just wasn't Faramir when he took Frodo + Sam to Osgiliath.
♥Show a little bit more on Aragorn's and Arwen's history, like how they met, or that scene of Aragorn and Elrond when Elrond first confronted Aragorn about Arwen. (From Appendix A?) It was awesome!!!
♥DELETE that scene on the Stair where Frodo sends Sam away! That was heart-wrenching!!!!!!!!!

But otherwise, the movies were awesome!!!!! Yeah, i had a hard time finding fault with them...

I would definitely like to see some more history and I wish they would have put more of the book into the movie (even if that would make them all 5 hours long!!) but yeah that's not really the writing...

I would have more about the ents (love ents) probably have treebeard a main character if I wrote it haha :P

And I would have put Figwit in! hahah

More stuff about Aragorn and Arwen...esp. Aragorn, he has such a fascinating history that Tolkien hasn't really described!

Hmmm...well, as an Arwen fan of course I'd love to have more scenes with her. Celeborn, Elladan, and Elrohir are also characters I'd love to read more about.

In one of his first drafts, Tolkien planned for Gollum to not betray Frodo. When they were in the Mountain, and Frodo couldn't destroy the Ring, Gollum was going to take the Ring from Frodo and then hurl himself into the fire on purpose, to save Frodo. I have a definite fondness for that ending.

I think the way Tolkien ended up doing it emphasizes how destructive the Ring is (Gollum simply couldn't resist the Ring, he was a slave to it) but that sort of tragic redemption arc for Gollum would have been a pretty powerful ending as well. And the power of the Ring would still have been shown through Frodo's inability to destroy it.

Agreed! In fact I'd love to hear a lot more about the events in the north as well. The defences of the northern realms interests me greatly. Glorfindels efforts therein etc.

This is actually something easy for me to answer since I have wished for this for a lllllooooonnnngggg time.
More Faramir and Eowyn! They kinda drift out of the story. Oh! And a tid bit about the relationship between Boromir and Faramir would be nice too. :-D

^ I don't know whether you mean the book or movies, but the book-verse story of Eowyn and Faramir has a much more definite ending. It satisfied me more the movie-verse version anyway. ;)

It would be great, if Tolkien would have written a book about Dagor Dagorath.

Movie-wise I'd just change it so that Tom Bombadil was in it.

In the books- I'd like more of Eowyn and Faramir, both as individual characters, and in the Houses of Healing.

Movies- simply no Elves (besides Legolas, of course) at Helm's Deep

Arwen sailing into the west after Aragorn's death. That would be nice.. she pays too much for her love.

Have the Ents find the Ent-wives at the end!!! :') Oh and more on the Istari and their role in Middle-Earth. Also what happens when they all sail back to the west. Do the valar find it inconvenient to have hobbits? Is Gandalf recognised for staying loyal to his cause?
