Are you still looking for some evidence (even though there cannot be evidence, only thoughts and opinions) on this matter? That Orcs were not made from Elves but from Men? I present thee:

Beautiful essay, Elu_Thingol! That was VERY informational and helpful to those who haven't read about Melkor in the Silmarillion [though the fact that they would come into the Sil forum is awfully ...odd]. Furthermore, that was very neatly structured, understandable, quite the writer you are. Mind if you help me with my essays? :P

^By "fade" do you mean, disappear?

Not all of the elves were tortured, so those that were not still lived on in their kingdom. If all the elves had been tortured, then there would only be orcs, not elves.
