Hmm.... Don't remember Lurtz actually being in the books. My favourite minor character appearing in the books, and was killed, is Halbarad.

Yes, of this list, I voted Theodred. Little is said of him in Lord of the Rings, but the chapter about the Fords of Isen in Unfinished Tales shheds some light on the manner of his wounding and death.

Yes, quite a tight family bond among the three. I have written a brief fanfic about them but its still in draft stage and incomplete.

I voted for Denethor, 'cause he's strong, but still so deeply in Sauron's power. He's the creepiest person in Lotr, 'cause he's not evil, but mean and insane. I think he would be a horrible dad, and even more horrible ruler..

Denethor was strong-willed, but didn't have the strength to stand against Sauron when he used the Palantir and this wore him down.
