Just wondering, but when you write or talk about Arwen do you say Arwen Evenstar or Arwen Undomiel. Most of you probably just call her Arwen, but if you could choose which would you call her. I would probably call her Arwen Evenstar, because that is what I've always called her for some reason.

I call her Arwen Undomiel not only because I'm used to that, but this site is also under that name. Although I like the sound of Evenstar. How exactly do you pronounce Undomiel? I think that since the name Arwen is elvish, then Evenstar should also be elvish to coordinate with the other name, thus producing: Arwen Undomiel. :bye2:

Somehow 'Undomiel' just seems to roll of the tongue easier than 'Evenstar...' It's alot easier to say, really.

I could be wrong but isn't Evenstar the translation for Undomiel?

Yes, Undómiel translates Evening Star!
I usually call her Arwen Undómiel, partly because of this site's name and partly because it seems to suit her better and as Serethiel...sorry, Tirithiel says it's easy to say!

Concerning the pronunciation as far as I remember there's a pronunciation guide at the main site under Elvish. Elvish is pronounced much like the Scandinavian languages so I find it quite easy to say but harder to explain to English-speakers...sorry...

Doesn't Undomiel mean 'twilight maiden'? And I call her Undomiel more.

I prefer Arwen Undómiel above Arwen Evenstar, but first I didn't know how to pronounce Undómiel, so I called her Arwen Evenstar. Most of the time I call her just Arwen.

I would usually just say Arwen, and expect people to know who I mean, but I've got so used to typing out arwen-undomiel.com that thats what I automatically call her!

I say Arwen Undomiel. I think it's because I like the whole elvish translation better.

I believe Tindomerel or something like that means Maiden of Twilight (Tindómë is Quenya for the twilight of dawn)

I always just call her Arwen but if I call her anything else it would be Arwen Evanstar cause I couldn't pronounce Undomiel. But now that I can pronounce it (thanx Larael Greenleaf) I'll call her Arwen Undomiel. I llike that better anyways and it's what I'm used to cause of this site.
