Harthad, you don't have access to uploading on the site?
In that case we need to call upon Nurr or JF. :)

Oh, no, I do, but I'd need the files in the first place and I'm not sure I can get them by PM, and I don't really want to give out my email just yet.
How about just to me? I'm trustworthy, I think.

Okay! :) I'll pm you my site's email, how's that?

Or perhaps use Dropbox or create a new email address that you two could use just for this purpose? :-)

I sent Harthad an invite to my dropbox folder that I made just for this. I'm putting the files in there as I finish editing them together.

So far, I've finished recording Gilraen, Aragorn, and Treebeard, and am partway through editing Aragorn's lines, and have Gilraen's one line already done.

The lines have number codes. I've uploaded a key which tells you which number is for which line, and that's also in the dropbox.

I finished recording Saruman, Gandalf, Elrond, Celebron, and a lot of poetry. It's not edited yet though. The editing is taking a lot longer than the recording.

Also, some interesting things I learned from coaching my actors:

They found that the IPA was easier to read than the orthography version. Even though they didn't know a lot of the symbols, when they heard me say the line and looked at the IPA version, it made a lot more sense to them, and they learned how to read it very quickly.

They had an even easier time of it if after reading the IPA while listening to me read it, they wrote it out for themselves in their own phonetic system.

The recordings are almost done. The editing process is well underway, and I have found more typos (all in the various versions of the Elbereth poem phonetic transcriptions). They have been corrected and uploaded.

I've finished putting together over 100 recordings so far... still missing Frodo's lines, and the voice actor who is doing Gandalf has a sinus infection and can't finish his lines at the moment. Other than that, the recording part is almost done. Oh, and the crowds of Gondorians chanting in Elvish, I haven't recorded that yet either.

There is an end in sight.

I had an idea for how to deal with the links to the recordings... how about the Elvish text itself is the link? It could open up a new tab or window and whatever browser-sound-file player they have can do the rest.

*runs in* I'm here, I'm here! JF, when I try to do that, I still have to copy the words and things from dreamingfifi's pages that she set up, and then when I try to fix the formatting to match A-U's style, it doesn't work. I don't really know what I'm doing wrong. But all the pages that need to be updated/are updated are in the other Elvish folder, where they should be safe for the moment.

School's started for me, so I won't be around as often. Sorry, guys. :confuzzled:

Hmm... maybe it would be better to wait until it's uploaded to AU, then myself and Nurr can maybe take a look at it? It's difficult to know what's wrong until I can see it. :-)

The only recordings that I have left to do are #s 136, 109, and 106.

I fixed some of the other recordings, so you should delete the soundfiles that you have and copypaste the new set from the DropBox.

I went ahead and added in the links to the sound files (but the soundfiles aren't uploaded onto my website, so they will not work) Except for #106, because I don't know who will be the voiceactor for it yet, so I can't name the file.

I played with it a bit and made it look more like the pages do. Note that I'm using Calibri size 2, and that font works MUCH better than Arial Black for the phonetic transcriptions.

How's the coding going, BTW? Any progress?

Who should do coding? Harthad? JF? Nurr?

Well, I have the dropbox folder shared with Harthad, so I thought that Harthad was the one doing it.

I haven't seen her for a while. She said she might be busy with school. Do you have a way of contacting her outside the forum?
