In my group of friends, I'm the only one that dislikes hobbits, and I believe it's because I find them to be unintelligent, slow, not clever, and common. Bilbo and Frodo strike me as the only hobbits with an IQ above 130, I believe that Merry, Pippin, Frodo, and Bilbo are the only ones with wit and cleverness about them, and most hobbits are so concerned with homely activities that it makes me sick. It's really a pity, then, that I look like a hobbit. I'm 5' 2" (seriously), and have thick, curly, light brown hair that reaches my waist. If I was only an inch or two taller and had straight hair, I wouldn't be complaining about looking like a hobbit, which I, at least, do not desire to do. The only consoling factor is that I'm really thin; I weigh 100 pounds exactly. |

I actually know two persons who don't like Hobbits, thats my two 15-years old cousins. They say that Hobbits are too happy and too peasant-like and like too much beer  But I personally am Hobbits MANIAC and always have something to say when they say that they hate them.

I've always heard friends say that hobbits are simpletons. in my opinion, though they be simple, hobbits are far better off than many of us.

One of my favorite Tolkien quotes is, "If more of us valued food and cheer above hoarded gold, it would be a much merrier world." There is something in the simpleness of hobbits that brings about the idea of peace and harmony. And I strongly disagree with the thought that they are all simpletons. Their life may be simple, but they aren't idiots. They are at most ignorant of the outside world - but that isn't a reflection on their intelligence. |

Now, if all four of them were routinely collapsing after three steps and getting lost as soon as they stepped out their doors, that might be different.

I'm not going to say thats not possible to hate hobbits, I've run across a few people with that idea. But I still don't understand why you'd hate hobbits. They are the best, peaceful and happy, thats what our world should be like. |

I love hobbits I agree with all of the other users on here. They're smart, adorable, laid back, and funny. I like how they're not dull like the characters in Twilight. Hobbits are so underrated! I mean, everyone seems to drool over vampires these days. I'm not saying people aren't allowed to have opinions, but come on, hobbits rule. I love their houses and furry feet
