Glorfindle should have done it. First Bakshi replaced him with Legolas and now PJ with Arwen? The poor guy. The number of times he must have been beat up and stuffed in a broom closet to get his horse away from him must be uncountable!

I agree with you very much!
I miss Glorfindel. Poor guy. Also, it was insanely unrealistic that Elrond would even allow Arwen to do that in the first place...

^^ I definitley agree with what you guys said. I loved how the scene turned out with Arwen, but I wish it had been Glorfindle. It just didn't seem right in a way, seeing Arwen rescue Frodo? I agree with how Altariel said Elrond wouldn't have let Arwen go after him... She may not fear the Nazgul, but her daddy would have feared for her! I also think that Arwen could easily have done something like that, because she is an elf, and she knows the land around her and the quickest way to her father. But, Glorfindle would have known too. So, yeah, I'll pretty much be quiet now!

Well, I believe that Arwen was just fine in place of Glorfindel. Now don't get me wrong, I mean I've read the books too, and I love Glorfindel!
But if you look at it from the, well, technical point of view (so to speak), if you're making a movie based from the books on as great as scope as PJ did, you want fewer characters with more jobs that make those characters more important, rather than lots of characters that each do maybe one thing. That just takes up space in the movie.
So with putting Arwen in place of Glorfindel, PJ thus eliminated having to have two characters that did one thing, and gave one character a greater role. Otherwise, Arwen would just show up at the end and marry Aragorn, and to be honest, I wouldn't really care for her all that much.
I think it was also good to have her as a more main character because there are so few females! I mean, there's Galadriel and Eowyn. That's it.
So yeah, I feel bad for Glorfindel, but hey, at least he's still in the first and most important part: the books!

LOL. I'm still rolling on the floor laughing at the fact that Bakski did that.... Legolas. "Oh, they won't know the difference!" Yeah, right!
Ehhh. If they had to replace Glorfindel, I wouldn't mind it be Arwen. She had the most need for screentime.

I think they should have used Glorfindel. Arwen was good in the movie, but I read the book after the movie, and it suprised me that it wasn't Arwen. I like it better when they stick to what the story says, but this time, it actually fit quite well.

....Glorfindel is much cooler than Arwen. However, I can understand that Arwen needed the screentime more.

True. I think I might have done the same thing in PJ's place, despite the fact that I think the books are correct. Arwen is much more valuble to the plot than Glorfindel. You can't clutter up a movie with unnecessary characters, it costs more and confuses people more.
But I do like Glorfindel in that part better:)

Yay! Someone else who shares my viewpoint! Hah, Eä--Arwen doesn't get all the votes.

Arwen's still cool... But in the movie she seemed..a little..bit.."woe is me I miss Aragorn." boo-hoo, cry me a river. She does cry and mope through like the whole trilogy. (the movies at least.)
BUT. that is just my view point. even my sister agrees...who..hates Arwen..
