bravery is present on almost every posotive character in the movie....honestly i think you can be brave in many planes and levels so i cant really say who is braver

It depends on how you look at the word bravery. According to Wikipedia bravery is "Courage, the human condition to confront pain and fear." I do think Aragorn faced many fears during his life, which he overcame head on. But, I do not think Aragorn was meant to be a brave and courageous leader, or at least that is not supposed to be his main attribute. As I said, it depends on how you look at the word. Bravery could also be giving one's life for the sake of other's as Boromir did. Anyway, I do think that Aragorn was brave just in a different sense. |

It's truth that in the movie Aragorn has to confront his innermost fear: fear of being corrupted by the ring just as his ancestor Isildur was. Yet in the climax when Frodo asks "Would you destroy it?" Aragorn gives the ring to Frodo, sends him off, and then tries to stop the attacking Uruks from getting to him. Whether he is bravest may be debatable, but he certainly is very brave. |

I don't think Aragorn is that brave in the movie, though he dose become more brave as it wears on. |

I don't think Aragorn is the bravest because it is like he is supposed to be brave. He doesn't have to work hard to be brave. I would say Sam is the bravest. |

I think that everyone is brave in thier own way Aragorn is one of them. I think that Frodo and definatly (my fav.) Boromir are really brave as well. |

They are all brave.. Argorn isn't the bravest of all. He is brave, yes, but definitely not the bravest one!

Many of you guys expressed my thoughts already. Each of the heros in LotR puts a different face to bravery. They all play their unique part in the drama. If you are part of a team fighting for a common purpose how can you say who is bravest? Is the heart more valuable than the eye or the stomach? CS Lewis said, "Courage is not simply one of the virtues, but the form of every virtue at the testing point. " Most of the characters in LotR were brought to the testing point. Their character...their strengths and weaknesses, were put hard to it. How they bore the test is testimony to their bravery or cowardice. |

Most I have talked to would agree with you elvenprincess on Aragorn’s appearance. I believe you hit it right on and I would ad that as I have been talking to my boys about Aragorn I am totally blown away with Tolkien’s awesome characterization of manhood. Aragorn struggles and grows but through it all he is a worthy model and shining example to all boys seeking to become men. He wonderfully balances strength against weakness—fierceness against gentleness—boldness against humility—and aggressiveness against tenderness. He is a great warrior and protector—a provider, mentor and friend. He is wise, compassionate and self-sacrificing…a true servant leader. He is the paradigm of masculinity—a superman to make men aspire and women desire. |

Thanx i would have to agree with you about that it came to me cause i watch lotr a lot you would think i have it memorized by now but no only some parts of it(including all th A&A scenes |
