In the movie edition there were 200 elves led by haldir that went to helms deep.
Also, I feel that Aragorn wanted to hold all arrows for single volleys, decimating wave after wave rather than hitting one or two in a steady stream. The volley would have had greater effect on morale and also could have killed a few more Uruks

They seemed to flake a little in the close Combat on the wall. Certainly not as skilled in this area then their Noldorin Kin. They make the best CQ infantry of all the eldar. But that volley was REALLY cool.
2OO Arrows speeding towrads the Uruks. That would have been a truely spectacular thing to see. 8) 8)

If there's any scrap of footage of Arwen at Helm's Deep in the released version, it's a mistake. That entire part of the story line was rewritten, and removed. There was also an additional scene where Arwen goes to Lothlorien first, and meets Galadriel. I've seen one picture of that, but it was also completely excised from the final released version.

I meant could they have stormed the wall and taken it form the elves and men?

as far as i know, none survived, but it is not fully resolved in the film. For all I know, a remnant could have survived and we didnt hear of them lol.

Oh, none of them survived. If they did then they would have accompanied the others to the other battles - it would be an obligation - so no, they all died.

I doubt they would have. They were charged by Galadriel to help Rohan at helms deep because there was an urgent need whereas at the pellenor fields Rohan had enough soldiers for its need. Also, Lorien needed to be defended and troops would have probably been called back anyway.

That part is stupid! You see like 50 elves retreating to the keep. Than 10 minutes later Haldir dies and then you never see the elves!
good thought EonwesBestMate I think they would have breached the wall eventually, except for the fact that gandalf brought that huge army that totally trampled the uruk-hai!
Are you sure only 200 elves? I thought thousands came! like 2 thousand something. But I am not sure.

Immortal, as in.. they can't die of old age. But they CAN die in battle and from grief. *sighs* Man, I hate saying that. It's Haldir!

Yeah, that is weird. Why didn't I ever think about that? Where did all the Elves go? I REFUSE to believe they ALL died. What were ya thinking, PJ? Sending 200/2000 elves to their doom?
