as a hopeless romantic elf i must say they are lovely and adorable but for some reason the ones with my kin in them affect me more....some days you just mention the bitternesss of mortality and i wanna cry lol so it doesnt help that my blog is named that lol. but yeah they should have got more screen time, it would have been nice lol i like faramir 2 lol, i think i like half the good guys lol.

But at least it was longer than in the cinema release (how much...ohh..2 seconds?) I suppose. Anyway, point being... what does everyone else think? Cos I can hardly watch ROTK now without screaming frantically at the tv screen... (I am a very sad person and I probably need a social life )
I to-ta-lly agree here! Peter Jackson really should have put more Faramir and Éowyn footage into the movies. I really loved the new added scene "The Houses of Healing" in the Return of the King Extended Edition, by the way.
But I still to-ta-lly agree.

i got so frustrated (after months of longing) when they didn't put more into it! that was my favorite chapter in the book, and they barely put it in the movie! what's up with that?

I think, from all the love stories in LOTR, this is the most belivable. It's not love at first sight and it's not involving immortal folk so we can relate to it more. It has so much real emotion and they really do go through relationship hardships that we would as wel so it's more human and could actually happen.

Morlothwen's right. It's better than none at all. but in the book they do go alot deeper. In fact they got married. But I;m sure most of you know that. I mean that's why were here. To get facts and give them to other people.

You're so right! The scene was NOT long enough, I feel just like many of you. I was jumping up and down when I watched the EE for the first time. and it wasn't longer than that! But I'm glad that it was put in the EE!

I read the book after i'd seen the normal versions, but before the EE editions. That was why I was a bit put off to remember no scenes with them in it, until I watched the EE for the first time!
Ohhh, I loved the scenes. They seemed so simple, and pure together...

When I got the RotK DVD, I tried looking for the scene with Famarir and Eowyn. Can you tell me which scene it was? I only recently got the DVD.
The fact that I have so much trouble trying to locate the scene shows that it was extremely short. How maddening! I like them better than Arwen and Aragorn, personally. Their story is almost tragic - because they didn't have enough time on the screen.

Go to scene selections on the second disc and go all the way down to The Captain and the White Lady, (i think that is what it is called.) and that is Faramir and Eowyns only scene together.

I thought it was a good scene but there should have been more to it.

I feel exactly the same way! I thought the scenes with Eowyn and Faramir have more meaning than Arwen and Aragorn's scenes together. The fact that they hold hands instead of going into a kissing scene just shows how real they are. Next to the story of Beren and Luthien, it's my favorite love story in LOTR.

Holding hands - that's better huh? You trade less germs that way - really, I think. They don't take up too much screen time like . . .*coughs*

I agree with you, Elberethsq!
Eowyn and Faramir are my favorite couple, and I've felt jipped since the first time I saw the movies, and the EE didn't help, because they didn't even show what happened in the appendixies!!!
For all we know Lego and Gimli could still be in the coranation cerimony, just standing there!
