The scene wherein Sam says the line 'I can't carry it for you...But i can Carry you!' is a very beautiful one. When we see him determined, carrying Frodo on his shoulders up the side of mount Doom, we feel a great amount of love for Samwise and we can see how powerful and beautiful the hobbits' friendship really is, I love it. This links into the scene wherein Frodo explains that he can't remember anything, 'The Taste of Strawberries on a summer's day' etc. and this is contrastingly such a sad scene. We really begin to understand what an impact such a burden has had upon the life of a pure-hearted young hobbit, and this, for me, is very moving. :'(

Yes, I agree, Frodos-Guide. It's a really great scene and that's where I think I was crying in the movie when I saw it with my friends.

I agree too. The scene was very moving, I think I teared up at that, too. When ever I see this scene I think to myself "A friend will stick by your side through dark times, but it takes a true friend to help get you through those dark times."

I feel so sorry for frodo at the end of that scene. Your right Frodos-Gide, you really get to see the impact the ring had on Frodo's life. It is quite sad :(

It really demonstrates the power of hobbit friendship.

I completely adore that line. It made me cry so much.:'( I was really moved by Sam's devotion and the bond between the two. i know this might sound wierd but at that point i really wanted to go and help the two hobbits. i was really engrossed in that part that i dont even remeber where i was. people might think otherwise but i thought that was the climax emotionally and otherwise.

"i can't carry it for you...but i can carry you" is my favourite line in the film. it makes me want to start jumping up and down yelling "go sam!". i even have a figurine of sam that says that line, which is just a little bit cool. :-D

Such a powerful moment. I get chills everytime, especially with the music [part of the "The Black Gate Opens" track] :)

frodos-guide i believe it was from toys 'r' us, although i did see it in other toy shops as well. i haven't seen them around recently though.

there is a thread relating to the sam toy somewhere else actually (the misty mountains under "what's your weirdest lotr-related activity?" cuz me and my friends have been taking pics of the sam toy and a legolas toy in really random places. feel free to drop by - there are some pics up.

anyway, back to the thread...

That part in the movie was extremely moving. It gives me goosebumps everytime I watch it. It really shows that Frodo and Sam were the best of friends.

Exactly!

How long do you think it took to shoot that scene?

I love that scene, Frodo and Sam's friendship is so beautiful and that last scene on the slops of mount doom really shows contrast between the beginning of LotR and the end. It shows how far the pair of them have come and the things they used to feel and think about more often than not. The simple luxuries that they used to take for granted.

That scene was really powerful and moving too. I get a bit sad when Sam says about Rosie " I would have married her" and it shows that he has regrets.

I know! That makes it absolutley tear-jerking! It does demonstrate the value of everyday life, and how much you would miss it if you were put into a situation like that.

I'm always crying when I'm watching this scene.
I think from that point until the grey havens, I can't stop crying and even during the end credits.

Samwise is the real hero of the Lord of the Rings! Indeed, without Sam, Frodo would have died so many times!
Hobbit friendship is an example for us, poor terrians lol

Y'know this story learnt me more than other books or movies I saw in my life, it has learned me honesty, loyalty and all and even if I already knew about those qualities, I didn't know how much they were important in life, in a friendship!

Oh GOD you see! This scene still makes me talk too much about human nature! lol
