The first time I saw it, I felt such a mix of anger, surprise, sadness, and happiness that I just sobbed the whole time. :P Since then I've been a little more contained and just cried at a few scenes...

Mostly I think a mixture of sadness, excitement and admiration! I admired all the characters for their valour- Sam on Mount Doom ("I can carry you!) Theoden when he gave his life in battle... Eowyn destroying the Witch-king and the hobbits for just... well it's the hobbits, isn't it?!?!

But also much sadness... The Grey Havens scene especially... :(

Deep admiration, sadness, happiness, probably all the emotions you can think of! There is so much going through the movie, it's hard to just feel one emotion through it. :-D

Well, I watched the films at the cinema for the first time, and if anyone walked past, they wouldhave just seen this tiny little figure curled up in a chair, sobbing at Frodo leaving for the Grey Havens. Even though I didn't understand what was happening then, because I was very young, it still made my heart break!

My American auntie sort of cheered me up at the end though, by saying "I wish they would have just hurried up and got on the boat, I needed the loo all the way through it!"

But yes, I wish I could see them at the cinema one more time...

In the end, when everything was drawing to a close, that was pretty sad. But I feel that in the books, the end of the RotK was even more sad because Tolkien lengthened the parts and described who left and who said what - it was kind of quickened in the movie. :bye2:

I cried through when Theoden died, Grey Heavens, Sam thought Frodo was dead, and tons more parts. I cried so much of happiness and couldnt stop smiling when Frodo was lying in the bed, and saw Gandalf and they started laughing. I was also scared, and angry, and stuff. I already knew what was going to happen, but I was still on the edge of my seat. lol. I think I cried the most was at the end when Sam closed the door. I sat there and then me and my friend just burst out in tears crying that it was all over, and we couldnt stup crying. It was funny cuz her sister came over, but then saw us crying and just slowly walked away. We sat there crying when the credits were over too, and then we retained ourselves and left before the people cleaning would yell at us though. lol. Im pretty sure everyone had to have cried through the movie. How could you not?

I was angry, sad, and happy. I was angry because of the mistakes there were; Sam leaving Frodo was the worst. I still haven't gotton over that. :explode:
I was sad at the Morranon scene when all hope seemed to be lost but they kept on fighting. Yo could see it in the faces of those there. They looked like they wanted to be anywhere but there at the moment but they just kept right on fighting. Also the Grey Havens made me sad. Lastly; I nearly broke into tears when the words "The End" appeared. (despite all the sad scenes I never cried once during the movie, even though I felt like it a lot. I don't cry easily)
I was happy because all the Fellowship's hard work and all the lives lost were worth it. sauon died, Aragorn became king, the Hobbits went home...ect.
