I'm curious with this one... Obviously, we all know Return of the King is action-packed, but what stunt was preformed that just blew your mind?! It can be an extended/new scene. For me, I'd have to say, Legolas's Oliphant scene... but people who know me would say I'm biased...

I agree with that. That's certainly the one that stands out most vividly in my mind

I really loved that scene too. And since we're on the discussion of Legolas's stunts...
I just have to say this, sorry,
a couple years ago i was reading this magazine and it was comparing the stunt in TTT when Legolas jumped on that horse before battling the Wargs, to where Will Ferrel got hit by that car in that dumb movie Elf. And guess what! ELF WON! I was sooooo angry!
Ok, I'm back. That Oliphaunt scene was really great. It was really well done and enterntaining as well.

Yeah, that scene was cool. When me and my brother saw it we were like And I love Gimli's reply "That still only counts as one!" I also like the scene in TTT,in the Battle of Helms Deep, where Gimli slides under an orc and slices him

I'm going to note a stunt that wouldn't really be considered astounding but it was very brave.
In FOTR, when the Fellowship battled the Urk-hai as Frodo was planning to leave (I am completely drawing a blank as to where they were) when Aragorn jumped on like 5 Urk-hai at the same time off of that bridge looking thing. It was a really brave thing to do.
P.S. Boy i sure do know how to be specific *sarcasm*

Those are all good examples. The Aragorn vs. Uruk-Hai at the end of Fellowship is probably one of my favorites.
One other that involved some stunt action, but was also heavy with special effects is the scene where the Nazgul destroys one of the trebuchet installations in Minas Tirith. The stunt players as Gondor soldier and the flying timbers (I'm sure that was all addd in) looks seamless. I remember when that came out on that special trailer they did, all I could say was WOW.
I also rather liked the oliphaunt climb and kill by Legolas.
In the Extended edition of ROTK, there's the mountain of skulls scene that's a combination of CGI and real prop skulls that's kinda fun...imagine wading through all those skulls LOL.

Hands down to Legolas' stunt!
I always cringe when Sam and Gollum are battling it out on Mt. Doom, it just looks like it hurts to hit those rocks, eventhough Im sure they arent real

That one is even better than the Oliphaunt stunt.
