Surely I am not the only one who has read The Final Empire, The Well of Ascension, and The Hero of Ages? I started them anticipating that they would be a little more juvenile, perhaps, than what I would normally read. I was wrong. Brandon Sanderson proved himself to be a master of worldbuilding, bringing an incredible amount of information out as the story progressed, without an overwhelming amount of information at any one point. He has three forms of magic in the stories, and they are completely original--rather, I have never read any other books with similar magic systems.

I normally consider myself to be pretty good at piecing together small clues in books to figure out the ending long before it takes place, but the ending of the trilogy caught me completely by surprise. It was exquisite. I encourage anyone who hasn't read them to put aside pretty much any other leisurely activity and read these books.
