I think thats the idea of the scene you know to make people and Frodo think that it had taken Aragorn too, you know like a little suspence or surprise either one works for meh!

But yeah thats what I think Im not sure tho

Glad you agree! Yes, I'd say Aragorn is pretty wise. We know from the EE that he is 87.

But yeah I would never even picture Aragorn even thinking of takine the Ring from Frodo, I mean that's the whole reason he came along, right to take care of the Ring and the Ringbeare, and I don't think he would break such a promise

I thought it was great that PJ wrote it like that because it seems that everyone wants the ring for their evil purpose!

I think it serves the purpose to make the audience realize that Frodo cannot trust anyone, not even the trustworthy good Aragorn, with the ring around. For one second, Frodo and the audience mistrust Aragorn, while he simply worried that Boromir took the ring from Frodo. It IS confusing, though. I dislike this little evil tone in Aragorns voice, because I think it doesn't fit him.

^ I think that tone was used to make you feel uncomfortable and a little afraid of Aragorn for that moment.

And when they're on the banks and just taking stock and right after Gimli says "Pay no heed to that young habit" Aragorn notices that Boromir's shield was there but Boromir wasn't and a ranger that can read a path on bare rock will notice an evil presence enter Boromir's heart.

I think it was used to add suspense, and what's more Aragorn was revealed to have a huge part in this, if he fell to the Ring... What if? Aragorn did live in the wild most of his life and could probably easily overcome Frodo if he did become tempted by the Ring. And for all Frodo would know, he'd have two men, both strong warriors of Gondor from proud blood lusting over the Ring hunting him down. Hobbits aren't described as very fast, so that would only cause more problems...

I think I agree with it being simply for suspense cause you really want to think that Aragorn would be able to resist the ring so you're like 'oh no' but then he does resist it and you're like 'good' .
