Wow.. I know I've posted here before but I just wanted to say I'm amazed by how many talents and skills and areas of interests we can cover. I'm sure we'll have the best, most organised, most frequently updated site featuring the prettiest LotR artwork, graphics, fanvideos and writings once we get this rolling. What a potential!!! I can't wait to get started. Go A-U! :D

That is the list... My idea of the next step would be that we appoint the Ultimate Coders/Editors which will be Keepers of the Passwords for the site. :teehee: Not saying that they will be stuck with this heavy responsibility forever in eternity, there might be others to come.. But for now we need a group af 2-3 people who can access the site and implement the actual changes.. coding.. stuff.

Eruraina volunteered herself
Nurr and JF and Haldir volunteered for coding too, would you guys be interested in helping Eruraina?

Next we need to talk to Arwen. JF suggested a live chat.. MSN, or maybe in the chatroom (does it even work?) between Arwen and the Coders. They need to get a tour of the site and know how things work...

Meanwhile, I imagine we could set up new threads (yes, I know we have about a thousand new Revival threads... but I think it's needed. :)) for the writing group to discuss what exactly the members would like to work on. The head of the group could update the first post with jobs that needed to be done and tick it off when it has been completed.
I think it's important that we have a few people who are willing to head the groups and take charge.. collect stuff otherwise everything will drown in talking... The groups would be open for everyone to enter and contribute, but I think we need some kind of structure so we can see who's doing what and when. ;)

I'm thinking we need a
- Writing group
- Graphcs group (who makes the layout as well)
- General cleanup group


I know people have posted in other threads too but this thread was all my brain could deal with... :)

I'm excited to get this rolling!

There are a few more volunteers in the Coding thread. I myself volunteered for anything, including coding and graphic design. We should appoint a leader for the coders (if we don't have one yet) to organize who codes what based on how much coding they know, what they want to learn, their time commitments, etc. :bye2:

Can'tr believe I forgot to post where I stand on this. :duh:

Graphics revamping. I would like to do everything and anything regarding the deleting of old graphics and adding new ones. Also, I am up for coding if needs be, but I am more than willing to do the boring coding stuff like linking pages and and stuff that doesn't involve restructuring or anything.

I would also like to have something to do with the galleries, getting rid of really dodgy images and finding good ones.

Also, when it comes to the graphics (if I could be the group leader or at least in charge of graphics if it doesn't need a group perse), I would like 2 graphics makers to help me decide what to keep and what to get rid of. I don't want to be the one to make a choice by myself, so a vote will be best I think. :-)

I'm also pretty much up for anything else.

From what I've gathered from all the discussion:

Raina is the leader of the coder group
JF is heading the graphics group
I'm heading the [non-graphics] site stuff

I've been putting together a thread for my group - just want to make sure there's everything covered before I put it up so there isn't much confusion. ;)

I am happy to help with anything else, esp coding stuff. JF, if you'd like me I'd help with the voting.




Also, we still need one (or two) Overseers of All/Editors/Presidents/Insert your term here.

So, just to clarify - am I part of the writing group or the general clean-up group? Or is that the same thing...? :blink:

Also, I guess I forgot to say; I'd be willing to help search for broken links etc too, there's bound to be a bunch of them.
I can also take some responsibility for the writing group, if there is to be one and if no one else is doing that yet (okay looking back it seems Nurr is in charge of that). But yeah, if there is any organizational responsibility that needs to be taken, I'm up for it. Overseer of Great Details sounds like a big job, but I'd be happy to take some of it :)

JF: Yeah, I think I'd already put those together in my head, I just don't list them that way. :teehee: You get to do everything that has shiny pretty pictures!

The way I see it, general cleanup will be pretty much everyone who wants to get their hands on things. Also, you can be a part of as many groups as you'd like, as long as you want to put the time in.

That'd be awesome if you were O Great Overseer! :D One thing Ea has mentioned, and I rather agree with, would be to have two Overseers (to start out with, at least) just due to time restrictions on a lot of us.

Another Overseer would be great, because I do have RL stuff to deal with as well, what with going to school and having a part-time job. But I'll do my very best here :)

Also, just so there is no confusion, maybe someone could put together a sort of work-list as to what every team and teamleader is supposed to do, so we know where things overlap etc. I know a lot of you have been working a lot more than me on this revival, so if anyone feels up for the list-writing (I know some of you are very fond of lists ;)) that'd be great I think :)

okay, this looks good ;)

I would look through the other revival threads to see what's been decided, but as the forum is currently acting up a bit for me, that'll have to wait a little.

and okay (this is where I feel like an idiot, but this has to be said :duh:), I'm not really sure exactly what the Overseer is supposed to do (because the teamleaders seem to be covering stuff pretty well). so I guess I could do with someone clarifying that for me :blush:
what I will do though, is organize a system for myself with who does what and what needs to be done according to nurr's list :)

I would help Ana with the overseeing bit. I'm a stay-at-home person, and I work seasonally (8am-4:30pm). I also don't currently go to school, so I'm at home 75% of the time (I'm away on weekends though). I have a lot of time to be able to work on things. :p
