"What? Why?" Darius asked Rosalina though he could already guess her answer---Calista did not want anyone to be hurt for her sake so she was going to just let Julius kill her. Hearing Gareth's question, Darius merely sighed and decided to give him as much information as quickly as possible. "From what Rosalina has told me, their father arranged for Calista to marry Julius, a mighty lord, since it would increase their family's prestige. However, he ended up being a cruel and vicious husband. Rosalina told me stories on how he would mistreat the servants and beat Calista senseless many a time---only stopping short of killing her. When their father died, Rosalina went to stay with her sister where she was subjected to many torments and for Calista, the abuse only became worse. One night as I snuck in to see my love, she told me once again as she had told me thousands of times before how she was worried for her elder sister’s health. I told her to convince her sister to leave and I would take them somewhere safe. That night Julius beat Calista so severely that he gave her a concussion, caused her to have a seizure and then caused her to miscarry. Nodding as Rosalina said that they needed to get Calista into bed, Darius knelt beside his love. "Let me take her," he whispered softly to Rosalina before glancing to look at Gareth. "In thanks for your aid today, you can stay with us if you so choose," he said softly. "It may be safer for the women to have another warrior around. I know little about Julius except that he is a vindictive coward who will have others commit his foul deeds. Chances are, he will probably try to attack again before we move."

Darius nodded at Rosalina before he gently took Calista from her before getting to his feet. "You coming?" Darius asked Gareth before turning from Rosalina and Gareth to go back into the house. Walking into the guestroom, Darius gently laid the woman down on the bed. Her lips and fingertips were a now a fairly dark blue and she was scarcely breathing.

Checking Calista's pulse, Darius could only sigh. "She's scarcely breathing..." Darius whispered to Rosalina softly after he walked up to her. "And her pulse is thready. If you know what can help her, you had best administer it to her quickly," he added as he glanced back at the woman that lay lifeless on the bed, knowing that Rosalina would not at all be eased to see that the woman's lips had turned a darker blue.

Listening to what Rosalina said, Darius could only sigh. "I am honestly the wrong person to ask," he remarked. "But if your sister schooled you, then I would take her word for it---since she knows more about herbal lore than I do. In any case, you need to act fast. Unless you want me to go and ask the mage for his opinion. I hate to admit it, but he probably knows more about healing herbs than I," Darius remarked. He did not want to have to ask Gareth for any help but if it would make Rosalina feel better, he would do so for her.

Rosalina nodded. "Let me try." she said and gathered what herbs they had and prepared them for her sister. Gently she lifter her sisters head, not looking at her lips, and started to pour down her throat.

As Rosalina poured the liquid down her throat, Calista started to cough as the brew slide down her throat too quickly.

Calista moaned softly after Rosalina finished pouring the liquid down her throat. Her breathing eased slightly, although it was still weak and her lips still remained blue.

Darius turned to look at Gareth when he came into the room, wondering why he was intruding although he refrained from making a rude remark after all the mage had done. Moreover, his concern for Calista was admirable so the shifter held his tongue. "She is still very weak," Darius replied to Gareth's question. "Her breathing has improved slightly, but her lips are still very blue."
