"I don't know what it is..." Calista stammered, utterly at a lost. "Where's Gareth?" she asked.
"He saw the cut on her arm and said he would be back with the antidote. But what if he is not back in time?" Darius questioned, his voice tight. "Please, there must be something you can try," he begged Calista as he half-carried, half-dragged her to Rosalina's bedside.
"Let me get Gareth's books," she replied as she walked slowly and unsteadily from the room and back to hers. Grabbing several volumes on venoms, she sat at Rosalina's bedside and after examining the wound began to skim through the books to find its roots of the poison.

Darius just paled as Rosalina started gasping for air. Looking up from her reading, Calista quickly set the book aside and leaning over her friend she pressed her lips against hers, breathing into her to hopefully sustain the woman until Gareth returned with the antidote.

Calista continued to breathe into her friend, praying that Gareth would return soon with the cure. Meanwhile, Darius just paced the floor the room, his worry for Rosalina growing by the second. "Where is he?" the mystical creature cursed under his breath, trying to will the mage to hurry.

Rosalina's breathing started to worsen again as her temprature rose and her heart stareted to beat irregular.

Pausing for a brief moment, Calista turned to look at Darius. "Start bathing her with the cold water, her fever is rising!" she commanded the man before breathing into her friend's mouth again. Not arguing with her, Darius quickly did as he was told.

Meanwhile, Gareth finally found the small reptalian creature that poisoned Rosalina its small fangs and grabbing it by the neck, he quickly made his way back to the house.

"No..." Calista murmured as she tried desperately to keep Rosalina stable.

A few seconds later, Gareth stepped into the room, shock and fury written on his face as he saw Calista pushing herself once again. "Cali! What are you doing up?" he questioned, his voice stern. Turning at his voice, Calista gazed up at him, relief shining in her blue eyes.
"Gareth, thank heavens you returned," she panted, her face pale. "Please, Rosalina does not have much time left..." she begged. Glancing down at the dead creature in Gareth's grip, the young women knew instantly what Gareth needed to administer the antidote. Walking to the kitchen she grabbed a large pot while the mage started a fire. "I'll go and milk the cow..." she whispered to him before turning to walk a bit unsteadily out of the room, knowing that Gareth needed milk to administer the anti-venom to Rosalina
"Cali, wait!" Gareth called after her, but the woman had already left. Sighing to himself, Gareth swiftly slit the reptile-looking creature's throat and started to boil the blood in the pot.

"Hurry!" Darius yelled at Gareth as he noticed Rosalina growing worse.
"Hold your tongue!" Gareth snapped back, already annoyed with the hybrid creature. "I told you not to disturb Calista!" he added with a growl.
"Rosalina needed help! You would act the same if our places were switched!" Darius hissed back.
"Watch your tone with me, hybrid..." the mage warned, his voice growing dangerously low.

Meanwhile, Calista sat on a stool, milking the family's cow. Brushing away the sweat from her forehead as she finished, she just struggled to carry the bucket back to the room. Hearing some of the argument as she neared the guestroom, Calista could only groan softly. "Please both of you, stop fighting..." she begged as she staggered into the room, struggling with her load. Hearing her weak voice, Gareth quickly turned his attention to her and rushed to her aid. "Cali, you need to rest..." he told her tenderly, worry in his eyes and voice as he took the bucket of milk from her.
"Just worry about Rosalina..." Calista murmured as she gave him a weak smile before sinking down in a chair as she saw the room spin before her.
After taking one last look at his love in concern, Gareth quickly mixed the cooling blood with the milk and poured it into a decanter. Then walking over to the bedside of the limp woman, he carefully lifted her up and tilting her head back, slowly poured the mixture into her mouth.

As the cure was poured, Rosalina started to cough and choke at first, but was soon taking it in.

"That's it, drink, love" Darius encouraged her as Gareth continued to slow pour the cure into her mouth.

Rosalina drank it all until it was empty. Her breathing started to get better, and her heart rate slowed, but the fever was going to take longer to go down.

Gareth set the empty cup aside as he carefully laid the woman back down. "Cool her with the water and cloth," the mage instructed Darius before turning back to check on Calista.

Nodding, Darius dipped the cloth in the cool water again before gently bathing her skin with the rag.
