I do have an audiobook of a few stories (Sherlock Holmes: The Rediscovered Railway and Other Stories), read by Benedict Cumberbatch. Also very nice Ooooh! Where did you find that? Anyway, I love the stories, and really need to find another anthology of them to read. There was one at my college library that I tried to read last Spring, but I just got so busy that I only got 50 pages in. Mmmm, I took my collection down to school with me last year. It was really relaxing to read one story each night. They're short enough that I never was too dead tired to not finish, and it helped me wind down after the day.

I found it in some little cheap bookstore in Bristol during my holiday I also like the length of the Sherlock Holmes stories, and the fact that they are intelligent enough to keep you engaged, yet not too difficult so you can read them even when you're dead tired.

Agreed! I love getting a cup of tea and curling up under my covers to read a story before bed. They're perfect for that!

I might start looking around for it. That would be so cool!

Yes, you should try to find them! Maybe you can find the CD or Amazon or something similar? These stories are my number one sleeping remedy, his voice is just so soothing

Warning: I'm going into geek mode. Happy 125th Holmes! Sherlock first appeared in the story 'A Study In Scarlet' printed in 1887 in a magazine. Doyle was working as a general practitioner at the time but due to low patient numbers in surgery he turned to writing, and created my favorite literary character. 125 years later and people still love the stories!

Pretty sure I've only read a couple short stories. I should fix that soon.

[quote="Oo, also that reminds me of 'The Sign of Four,' and the creepy image of the smiling dead man though the keyhole. That gave me chills.[/quote]
That one totally creeped me out. I read it in the middle of the night, when I was supposed to be sleeping, and it took me forever to get to sleep after that. I am reading The Red Headed League right now, and it is my favorite one so far.

Have you ever seen "The Sign of Four", with Jeremy Brett playing Holmes? If not, then find it, its good. Brett is an excellent Holmes! But yeah, you can see the scene with the freaky smiling dead guy through the keyhole!

Yeah... I heard they are going to make one of the season three Sherlock BBC shows based on the sign of four. I am on The Adventure of the Speckled Band now, and think the Dancing Men one has been my favorite so far. These books are so much fun!
