I never felt sorry for her; I was too scared of her and besides, she used to be a frequent guest in my nightmares.

(Then Sherlock Holmes, but Trixie Belden was really my first foray into mystery.)

I do! I mean occasionally, I'll be browsing my bookshelf and one will just call out to me and I'll settle down with it...and because they're from childhood/easy reading level, I'll be able to reread it quickly and relive all the wonderful nostalgia. ^^

I still read a few stories from my childhood too. Its just a nice way to relax sometimes, especially when stressed. Brings back the calm of simpler, funner times. And yes, since they are an easy reading level, they make a quick read.

One of my favorite books is The Little Prince by Saint-Exupéry. I even brought it with me to college. It's a small book but full of heart.
I hope one day I'll be able to read it in the original French. ^^

I was obsessed with a book called "The Crystal Mountain" when I was 7-9 and I called it the best book ever. It was actually a retelling, but every time I saw it in the library I would get it. I can still remember myself saying, "It's my all-time favourite book!" But hey, 7-9 years old wasn't THAT long ago for me I don't know if I'll pick it up again. It's one of those tales where the youngest boy in the family does the quest when the older guys fail.

I plan to buy even more of them because they re-released the series in my country and I am all hyped about it. I strated reading the first one and all good memories came back.

I don't re-read the ones that I read when I was tiny, but the others, why not. I love them. Whenever I find a new Hardy Boys book I'll read it and buy it.

I really loved (and still love) The Chronicles of Narnia. My dad would read them out loud to me before bed and they've stayed with me ever since. Also, has anyone else read The Boxcar Children series? I remember reading a couple of those books in my younger years and liking them, but I haven't seen them in a while...
