Concerning the TTT scene called final tally: That is absolute parody! It's hilarious, but it wasn't in the theatrical edition for a reason. No one should take it seriously. In reality, Gimli wasn't belligerent or rude when he told Legolas: "43!" Then Legolas said, "You have passed my count by one, but I do not grudge you the game, so glad I am to see you on your feet!" That's true Gimli and Legolas stuff, sweet and self-denying! You see, Gimli was lost for a long time so he thought he was dead.

And about the "he was twitching"...count carefully!
Even if the orc was alive Legolas shot him, that means it would be #43, making it a TIE.

Yes...Legolas and Gimli both. They took a ship to Valinor.

Gimli is awesome! If anyone doesn't like him it's because they dumbed him down and made him look a little stupid in the movie; like when he couldn't run as fast as the others. In truth he was one of the best runners.
No one tosses a dwarf...that line isn't too bad I suppose but there are some that are just intolerable!

I, despite the fact that I don't like Legolas, love Gimli and Legolas' friendship. The first elf-dwarf friendship in the Middle-Earth from long long time and they look kinda...cute while talking and staying together.
Maybe my love for dwarves made me think so, because Gimli is funny and can move Legolas a little ;p

I agree with Aerandir. It is really cool how Legolas takes Gimli to the Undying Lands, but also kind of sad, because their leaving brings about the end of the Fellowship on Middle Earth.

I like this pun-filled friendship between elf and dwarf. They have some best lines, especially in the movies. I love the part when Legolas talks about the caves, it shows how close he is to Gimli.
