I agree. I felt sad but at the same time it just felt right that Sam ended the book and Frodo sailed into the west. I felt whe I ended the book that (and when I read it agian I still feel) I am leaving behind people and hobbits. I cried.

It was most heartbreaking ending of a book I have ever read. I wish they could stay in Middle-Earth and live happy life but I understand that it would be - after all Ring stuff - too difficult for them. Especially for Frodo.

I loved it. I have no complaints. Which is rare for me. I even had complaints about how Harry Potter ended. But not this. It was magic.

Adding to my own statement I can say it was emotional though. But then again, I cry the last hour and a half of RotK just because. Then at the end I cry a bit more. It's just how I roll.

When I finished ROTK, I was first like "did it end? Did it really end?" And then I just read it again, 'cause I liked it so much.

Yes, I felt very much the same way. I immediately went to the library and checked out Return o the King again so I could study the appendices, and Fellowship of the Ring so I could start over. There had to be more.
