Lhunardaien wrote: I think Legolin's brothers have other reasons for disliking Arwen than the reason you mentioned Which is not surprising, considering that boys usually aren't that interested in the actors and actresses behind a movie. I'll just quote my previous post: Bellatrix wrote: That's not what I said. The point is that it's not unique to dislike Arwen. I never said that I knew why they dislike Arwen.

My dad liked LotR a lot before I was born, and apparently he and my cousin (who is a lot older than me ) always went to see the LotR movies together when they came out in theaters. He doesn't like to talk about LotR much anymore I guess, but he will answer questions about it if I ask him. My mom thinks its boring and wont even watch the movies. One of my sisters is reading the hobbit right now and likes it (she is 14) she has seen all the movies, and is now reading the books. I convinced my mother to try to read The Hobbit to my 11 year old sister, but they read the first chapter, and don't seem inclined to go any further. My grandmother once described reading The Hobbit for a class she took as " long and tedious" but she usually reads murder mysteries so... yeah...that's my family.

I'm pretty sure brothers wouldn't care much about that, so Legolin's brothers' reasons definitely aren't anything about that. The don't even know who the cast is quite frankly! The truth is, they don't like her because she is a girl and for some reason they don't like the fact that Aragorn is in love with her. (Sorry Gimli son of Gloin ) because they naturally think Aragorn is cool!

YEAH! My mom asked us questions about LotR which is the reason why we watched LotR for the 4th or 5th time. But that wasn't recently.

Yeah, yesterday my mom wanted an explanation of the point of the One Ring... I had every ME book we had in the (new) house, quoting and explaining, it was quite fun!

My older sister and brother love it, my mom doesn't mind it (she likes Gandalf from the movies), but she doesn't absolutely love it, and the only thing my dad likes from LOTR is Gollum.

^ At least your father likes one of the lotr characters. My dad doesn't like anyone in lotr. Actually he didn't even watched. But except my dad everyone loves Lord of the Rings in my family.

My cousins love LOTR as much as I do. They agreed for us to have a marathon sometime . Unfortunately they're so busy with their after school activities; band, softball, and swimming, so for now I have to wait until they can find the time.

My cousin is not interested in it, and even though I accepted his fandoms of Iron Man and Avengers and Star Wars and such, he has never accepted my ME fandom-ness. He stopped talking to me for awhile because of that. I just don't get him!
