(Hello all! I would love to start a William Wallace themed RP, stemming from my love of the movie braveheart and the strong regard I have for this man who shaped history! I need someone to play William Wallace, i'm terrible with rping as guys...sooo jump in and let me know! Rules: be polite and have fun! This rp does not need to follow the movie or the history of it perfectly, by the way haha :))

My Character:
Name: Catriona Lùtair
she is the daughter of Raibeart Lùtair. Her mother died when she was a baby, so she does not remember much of her at all. Catriona helps her father with their simple farm. they are not rich, but they make do with their few sheep and one milk cow. Catriona does some baking, and sells her breads and pies at the market. It is just one more way to earn a little more money, or to trade for things much needed around their humble dwelling. She has fair skin, with an abundance of freckles. Her hair is a dark strawberry blonde, and she has light brown eyes. In her free time, she enjoys sketching, it is a great day for her when she can purchase some pieces of parchment and some charcoal fro drawing.

(Please join and we will start!)

I will sort of play William Wallace but I will also play a young man who joins his force.

Gareth Martin: Tall, broad shouldered, green eyes, light red hair, 25 years old, his parents were murdered by English soldiers leaving him to raise his younger brother and sister, he has two dirks and a short sword.

I will have more later but does that sound good?

(sounds wonderful!)

Catriona sat with her back against the tree, closing her eyes in the life giving breeze that gently ruffled her hair. She loved the sound of the wind in the trees... She found nature to be calming. She suddenly started out of her dream like state when she heard horses approaching. Her eyes popped open and she sprang to her feet when she saw that it was a group of English soldiers. She scowled as they drew closer. The English had fairly taken her mother home of Scotland for themselves, and King Edward, the cruel pagan that he was, had claimed the throne of Scotland for himself. A right nasty man, if one could even call that monster a man, she thought dryly. She crossed her arms and glared at them as they rode by her. She felt tempted to throw rocks and sticks at them, but she knew that would do no good. There was a rumor that war would be upon them. But would Scotland fight? She suddenly remembered whisperers she had heard about a man the people had called William Wallace. They were calling him the man that would set Scotland free. She had her doubts as to if he was actually real. Who could fight against the English army? Who had the courage to do so? She shook her head and turned to go back to her farm. She was suddenly stopped as a loud scream from one of the soldiers echoed through the formerly peaceful meadow. She whirled around to find that there was a small band of Scottish Highlanders attacking the band of English. She turned again to run but was caught by the wrist by one of the Englishmen. He yanked her hard backwards, grabbed a handful of her hair and pulled her neck back, exposing her throat. She felt the cold steel of a blade pressed against her neck. She instantaneously froze.
"Stop! Or I'll kill her!" he screamed as two of the Scots ran towards them. They stopped, appearing unsure if one casualty would really matter.

Gareth stopped when the Englishman shouted his word of warning. He had the girl securely; there was no way for her to slip loose. He glanced at Robert, who retreated a few steps, then winked.
“Och sir you don’t need ta hurt the lassie,” Robert began walking slowly to the right.
The Englishman turned towards Robert keeping his eyes on the moving man and forgetting Gareth, who moved silently behind the man.
“…she’s never hurt ye…”
That’s it Robert, keep talkin Gareth thought. Suddenly he grabbed the man’s hand wrenching it and the knife backwards. They rolled on the ground struggling with the knife. Finally, Gareth freed his other hand, grabbed his dirk, and ramming it into the Englishman’s body. The Englishman grew limp then lay dead on the ground. Gareth rose and brushed the grass from his tunic. He, unlike the others, was dressed in English clothes. This was because he was the band’s spy and had striking resemblance to the English, which he had hated. Also, his ability to disguise his voice and walk without noise helped their band It was he that had learned that small company of English was passing this way. Gareth walked over to the girl.
“Are you alright lassie?” he asked slipping back into his Scottish brogue.

In the struggle between the two men, Catriona had tumbled to the ground in a most unceremoniously way. She picked herself up, brushing the grass and twigs from her skirts and hair.
"Aye, I'm fine, milord... Thank ye'..." she clasped her hands in front of her, bowing her head towards him in thanks. Then, her head lifted.
"Are th' English stronger in their numbers, milord? 't seems t' me that I see more o' them vry' day... " though her heart was still pounding, the thought of the safety of her countrymen meant more to her than anything.

"It's Gareth," he said nodding his head.
He looked troubled at the mention of the English. Unsure of what to tell her he simply replied, "It seems as if they grow."
He noticed Robert motioning to him.
"Where do you live lassie?" he asked suddenly.

((OCC. Perhaps we could meet again if Gareth is captured and brought to your (town?) to be executed?))

"Gareth. If'n ye don't mind, Milord, I have t' say that it is a very strong name." she dipped her head, feeling she had been too forward, but she always spoke her mind.
"I know they grow in strength and in numbers, and it makes me sick." she added as she picked another leaf off her skirt. "I live on that farm, just over the hill..." She turned and pointed, and you could see faintly smoke rising from cooking fires. "Tis' not far, I can make it on my own. I know you two must have more to do then escort me home." She gave a wan smile.

((OOC. sure! and please forgive my long absence...it's been a rough few months...but I am back))

Gareth smiled, "Alright...may I ask of your name?"
Robert motioned again and Gareth picked up his bloody dirk and wiped it on the ground.
"Farewell," he called.
The small party made their way back to the camp, Gareth exchanged his English clothes for true Scottish Highlander's clothing. After making his report to their leader, William Wallace, he strolled to his tent and sharpened his weapons. William Wallace had sent him on another mission and if he was successful he would get to visit his younger brother and sister for a few days.

((OCC: No problem! I was really busy, I will be on here more though.))

"M' name tis Catriona, sire." she dipped her head again, feeling her cheeks get got. "May y' both be safe, may th' gods keep ye." she gave them one last smile before turning and walking towards her home. Her cheeks burned the entire way. She figured they must have been Wallace's men. The name William Wallace sent many a young girl's hearts pounding. He was a hero, THE hero of Scotland. But, Her eyes had been set on Gareth. a silly thing, she knew. She reached her home, and slipped inside. "Da'?" she called into the gloomy little hut. "Da'? tis me, Tis Catriona..." She wandered around the one room hut a while, and not finding him there, she frowned and ventured out the barn. As she eased open the big barn door, her eyes took a while to adjust to the even darker light there. When her eyes finally did adjust, she gasped, then sent a scream into the air. In the barn, hung, were three men. One she knew was her father, the other two were his brothers. She dropped to her knees. If only she had been there. The English had reached her home. No tears came, she just sat on her knees shocked, stone faced. Night began to fall, and still, she didn't move.
