Very honestly my mellons, we are too small a band to get this revival thing
done on our own, with just word of mouth. I don't think there are even 10 of
us who are still active right now.
We need a different approach.
Giving of our time is great, but
I think we need to invest more if we really want to see something
happen here.
I strongly feel the approach we need to take is
PAID ADVERTISEMENT.Now don't be afraid by the sound of it~ There is actually a lot we
can do with just a few dollars. We just have to take the right avenues.
My sister used Amazon Mechanical Turk to get views to her music video
on YouTube. It worked really well! She got a lot of views, and it upped
her in YT's search engine so now she gets views more easily than before.
She only paid for this service once, but it helped a lot. She suggests going
through Facebook though, if we want to try it. YouTube finds it suspicious
if a lot of views come directly from AMT, and they will cut your view count
down. But if they see the views coming from FB, they just think "Oh it's being
shared on FB, that's why it's getting so many views." This way would actually
be better for us too, because the AMT viewers would have the chance to see our page
and like/share it if they are interested, PLUS give us the videos views.
My sister paid 8 cents a view. She spent 80 dollars total. She got about
2,000 views in 2 months.
And the good thing about getting your views on YT up is that the more
you've got the more you get. It ups you in their search engine because
you become for their business.
Another thing we could do is make deals with popluar YouTubers. For example,
most beauty YouTubers are willing to strike business deals where a store
will send them a free item and they review it. If the beauty youtuber has 100,000
subscribers, their new videos get about 2,000 views within the first 24 hours!
If one of us makes an item that is lotr themed (for example elvish style jewelry) and
has a beauty youtuber review it, giving credit to the designer from A-U.com, that is
about 2,000 people hearing about us in 24 hours!!!
We could target different types of YouTubers with similar deals.
We could also try making a YouTube commerical. The kind where we would be
a paid advertisement before someone's video. I can't remember all the details
of this, but I don't think it was an expensive deal, if it even cost anything.
I don't know how much any of us could fork out for these ideas right now, and
if you can't fork out anything no worries! Just doing whatever you can
to help is fine. ^^ But for those of us who could contribute something
these may be really good things to consider. Even if we had to save up for it,
I really feel these things could make a difference if we get them done.
Anyway, what do you guys think? Until we can pull of paid advertising, we can
continue with present efforts as well.
