Had to open my car with the manual lock in the driver’s side door (thankfully it still has one – some newer cars may no longer have it) recently. For some reason, the remote-control function of the key is balking in our multi-story car park, while it works fine outside. Maybe I should get around to having the yearly inspection done.

Sounds like the battery in the key remote.
Planning on getting the 2011 Mitsubishi Lancer (Nip Zero) serviced later this month ($). Also need to pay insurance and license on the 2016 Trax (Nugget) ($$).

I was reading the Consumer Reports, and realised I lucked out when I bought my Tuscon in 2016. Apparently, the car company has "tweaked" a few things, and the 2017 and 2018 aren't getting the same ratings.

The best years to get a new car are the years where the model has a few years under its belt. The bugs are worked out, and they haven't implenented the 'New' features in a major revamp. I think we lucked out with the Lancer and probably the Trax too.
The Everyday life thing today was mowing the grass. I put it off as long as possible, but it was starting to seed and the pug wasn't happy with its length as it started tickling her belly when she went walking through it. I so easily could have just got online and surfed about here and elsewhere after watching s couple episodes of Berlin Station after we got back from a road trip, but I go right on to servicing the mower and cutting both the back and front yards. It's amazing how well freshly sharpened blades cut through feral grass! Anyway, the yard is good for a couple more weeks. A good rain or two with the sun and heat will have it back to where it was in no time.

Went to my savings-and-loan (we have a semi-public national system which stays well away from dotcom and subprime and similar "exciting" garbage) to do some "housecleaning" after I had paid off the last loan that I had with any bank. And ever will have.

As much as it is convenient that we finally have washers and dryers in this building, it's costing me more money. The laundromat is cheaper. Gonna go back to using that again.

Our Bathtub’s drain is semi-clogged, and none of my household cures that worked on earlier occasionas are having much effect. Will have to contract local facility management to have them send over a plumber.

Evil.Shieldmaiden wrote: Could it be hair? Mine clogs because of cat shedding, and me shedding. LOL Hair is very certainly an issue. But the age of the building (over 50 years), and the plumbing of that time not being compatible to current day bathing / showering habits, never mind the plumbing having gotten fouled over the decades probably also figure in.
