I'll agree to the first half, but I'm still placing them on par with eppisodes 1-3. I've been putting some thought into typing up an official review of the franchise and going into more detail of my thoughts... But time for such an endeavor seems to evade me.

I really should. Lol One of these days when I am on my laptop I will take a break from writing on my book and set it all in order. Whenever I get around to it I will certainly post here.

I think they are far superior to the prequels but I really dislike those movies and find them boring. My main problem with them are that they relied too much on green screens and it felt like nothing was practical and it took away from the experience.

I agree wholeheartedly Bellatrix! Too much cg makes it just feel animated. That was the part of the problem with the Hobbit movies as well.

I have many, many problems with the prequels, of which over-reliance on green screen/cgi is relatively small.

The plot, the story arc, the writing/dialogue, the characterisation, the casting...abysmal. But, then, I saw them as an adult. I saw the "original" Star Wars as a child and whilst they too are imperfect, I am nostalgically attached to them all the same.

Perhaps if you saw the pre-quels as a child, you might also feel a sense of nostalgic attachment to them to the degree that you don't quite notice the flaws or if you do, they don't bother you.

There was something 'not quite right' with the prequels. The Phantom Menace was absolutely horrid and to me, nearly unwatchable. I remember sitting through it at the theater. The whiney JAke 'Aniken' LLoyd was terrible. Natalie was slightly better, but the flaws in teh screenplay could not have been fixed by betetr actors. Yes, the CGI was crap even for the late 90's, and Jar Jar.... well, the less said the better. were a little more improved, but still.... they hit way below the mark on delivering their possible stories.

That said, I do have high hopes for the upcoming Hans Solo movie, but I will hold some in reserve in case they dog it up. So far, the Disney influence has been good for the franchise.

I was pretty young when the prequels came out and I still had an issue with them. We had the originals on VHS, before the remastered versions. So basically, the complete originals. Without any of the more fancy corrections and whatnot. And I always loved them and wished we still had a VHS player so I could watch them now and not the DVD versions which are all the remastered versions - as far as I've found, at least. I mean sure, the originals didn't have the technology we've got today, but they had the acting and the skills regardless. I far more enjoy movies that don't relay on CGI and green screens. I was happy to note that the new trilogy wanted more actual effects in place rather than CGI; whenever it could be avoided. They still have flaws, but when it's just green screens and whatnot it feels like you've been cheated, somehow.

I myself liked the prequals, but I was simply a kid who loved star wars happy to see new star wars movies. There are issues with them, for sure, but I still enjoy watching them.

I finally got to see it. I really liked it. What I hate the most is how mean people Have gotten that didn't like the films. Thankfully it hasn't been on this site but youtube and other sites some of the comments are just mean. Attacking certain actors and such. It's just sad to me.

Cool cool! :D

Yeah, I have my complaints about the movies, but it’s never helpful just to talk trash about people. My complaints are mostly just the separation from the original lore... i’m coming to a grudging acceptance of it, though.

I really enjoyed Solo. The story was fairly complex. Moral of the story is trust no one and Donald Glover is perfect.
