Poor Boromir..i didn't see the EE of Fotr yet and i didnt know this but though i think it was not that immportant...and on the other hand it's as if boromir is not part of the fellowship..and maybe PJ did not put him in that scene because Sean Bean was not there when they made the scene..whahah just kidding (it doesnt make any sence ofcourse )

I was wondering... If someone happens to have the Gift of Foresight *hint* and she happens to foresee someone else's death in the near future *hint again* wouldn't it still be very unpolite NOT to give this person a gift when his 7 companions all get one?
It's like... like... umm, if yuo don't wanna put up a Christmas tree because you know you'll have to take it down within a few weeks...!
And by the way I don't think the reason why they didn't put it in the movie was because a belt was.. umm a boring gift. Look at Gimli, he got hair...!! Given in the right spirit every gift would be valuable!

I think maybe he also did it to show that the elves didn't completely trust Boromir. It also wasn't really used. Just took up money and time, not just the time it takes to give the belt but also the time it takes to make the prop.

It was indeed a belt. A belt of gold.

Boromir's (Sean Bean) face was shown first when they presented them the cloaks so basicly a person might think he got the cloak alone.....but no, they all got them.
Even the fetishist dwarf got his gift.
I think it wasnt appropriate for the nature of that scene that Boromir was left out of the gift give-away. It didnt had to be a belt, could had been someting completely different. I really got annoyed at that part....

Well...All I can say, is he had issues with the Lady of Light...she got into his head, and he didn't like it. As for the gift, The people of Minas Tirith had long spoken ill of Lothlorien, so, with that in mind, one would think that he got what he deserved, in a way. You can disagree with me if you want...but to a scholar of elven studies, this makes more sense: "What you give, is what you get."

Yes...but think about it...Merry and Pippin got daggers...Sam got rope, Aragorn got NOTHING, except some words...Gimli was shy about asking for his gift...Galadriel knew he was going to break the Fellowship...

Aragorn got a gift... it was the elven knife given to him by Celeborn when they departed (the one he stabs into Lurtz'es thigh).
And you say that Boromir broke the fellowship? I think not. It was ment to be broken! And if he did, so did all others starting from Frodo who wandered off, to Merry and Pip who got into trouble. In my opinion, the fellowship in the movie was broken becouse of the Uruk Hai attack.
Out of your words spoken before you say that men of Gondor speak ill of the Golden wood. Would that mean that the reference of kindness being such as Galadriel developed revenge and irony? Something in a way "you will get killed, i wont waste my time on you..."? Think not.
The words she spoke to Boromir he states to Aragorn later on when he asks him why he couldnt sleep. She told him that Gondor is falling into decay, but that there is still hope. And honstly i dont think Galadriel stated to him "you will die", it just wouldnt feel right.

Yes, if he so chose to find it...but he got tempted by the ring, and therefore made Frodo want to get away more...
And I know Aragorn got a gift...but it was from Celeborn, not Galadriel...

Hmm, but what would had happened if Frodo did not run away....can we look ahead? Think not my friend... maybe the end would had been much more dreadful.
Everybody got tempted by the ring, including Galadriel. Then why are we to put the blame on a simple mortal man when not even the one of the great Noldorin got in its power? I respect him all the way for his behaviour, he confessed his mistakes.

What do the Noldorin have to do with this?

Owh....nothing, just stating that the immortal elf got tempted by the ring, thats all *shrugs*
But i will give you my answer that will prolly burn your eyes:
Becouse of the Noldorin we had both Feanor and Celebrimor, two troublemaker elves. The last one forged the three, the seven and the nine. And becouse of that the One had power over all of them exept the three (offcourse elves had been smart and did design the plans so they warent effected...). In the end we had the Nazgul, the near downfall of a Kingdom and almost a certain distruction of Middle Earth.... all becouse the elves wanted to play with nice rings *grins*
*gets prepared to be cast into Orodruin by all elf-fans alike piece by piece*
